Antonella Barba Screws Up the Anthem
I don’t know which country Antonella Barba, the American Idol cast off with racy pictures, but it’s debatable if it’s the USA.
She was recorded singing the Star Spangled Banner at some event which was then posted on her MySpace music page. Francis Scott Key is rolling over in his grave as I type this.
Either her nerves were shot of she wasn’t sure which country’s anthem she was singing because when she didn’t quite know the words, like any pro, she improvised. They were minor mistakes, but when it comes to singing the anthem, come on! ‘Through the perilous flight’ to ‘ooh the perilous fight’. ‘Bombs bursting in air’ to ‘bombs bursting in there’. And finally, ‘o’er the land of the free, in the home of the brave!’
