Salt ‘N’ Pepa Rapper Quit Duo To Fight Bulimia

Rapper Cheryl James quit Salt ‘N’ Pepa in 2001 to recover from depression and bulimia. James, better known as Salt, walked out on the girl group to get away from the “endless” pressure she felt being in the spotlight. Now 41, she says, “I had to get rid of the chaos in my life, which I attributed to being in the group… The pressure to be beautiful and management telling me, ‘You’re gaining weight.’ It was endless.” This should be an eye opener to all those aspiring to be singers and musicians, the ‘endless’ pressure to look slim as the world’s slimmest mobile instrument can be ridiculous at times. Man like want do the people want the female singers to be like –some 15 mm wide body with gadgets like looks and sumptuous curves, 2 mega pixel camera and even more features. They are humans and not mobile phone for heavens sake; they feel hungry and have some tastes.
