John Mayer surprised some lucky concertgoers at the Mercury Lounge in New York City on Saturday night when he came up to the stage unannounced and started to perform an acoustic set.

John reportedly performed some new material along with some old ones. One person in attendance said that the new stuff sounds great. Another witness adds that one song was “an obvious slap to all the Jessica Simpsons of the world”.
