Is it comeback season? While we can all expect Britney and Whitney try to make a comeback, the thought of the Jackson Five reuniting never even crossed my mind. But according to Jermaine Jackson, little brother Michael is set to rejoin the band of brothers for a world tour next year. There’s even talk of baby sister Janet joining them on the road!
Jermaine was in the UK these past couple of days and he told reporters that “We feel we have to do it one more time. We owe that to the fans and to the public.â€
I didn’t know people were looking for them to reunite.
Canadian singer Celine Dion has enough money and taste that she can go on a shopping spree in New York stopping by the swankiest stores like Chanel and Chopard. But when it comes to Avril Lavigne, we can’t argue that she doesn’t have any money but I can argue that she doesn’t have much class.
The pop punk poser couple Avril and hubby Deryck Whibley were seen shopping in LA on Thursday but they were nowhere near Rodeo Drive. Instead, they shopped at the 99 Cent store. Avril must really be saving up and pinching pennies because she knows money for her concert ticket sales isn’t coming in.
I know. It’s Amy Winehouse. Again. But she just keeps popping up. I have been able to write something about this girl for days now. And today is just another chapter in the Amy-Drug saga.
At her London performance at the Hammersmith Apollo on the 24th, the troubled singer took to the stage; only to slur her way through most of her songs and cut her set short. Fans were left wondering what they had paid for, and indeed many demanded a refund. One fan said, “I paid to see Amy, not some spaced out girl wandering the stage. She needs helpâ€.
Amy, despite claiming you are clean, we don’t believe you. And we will only stick around for so long before you become some washed out junkie who used to be famous.
In her tour, which ends Dec 17th, Winehouse’s next gig is tonight at the Brighton Centre. I wish all of those with tickets luck; I hope Amy is on form and doesn’t repeat Saturday’s behaviour.
The rumours have been flying guys and gals; that’s right those with nothing better to do with their lives have been speculating over the sexuality of 23-year-old singer, Katie Melua. And it seems that the verdict of the week is that she is gay.
But the star appears undaunted by the rumours, claiming she likes to keep fans guessing about her sexuality. And why not? Why do we have this urgent need to know absolutely everything about everybody? My, wouldn’t the world be a boring place if we did.
The rumours began when Katie split from Luke Pritchard; frontman of band, The Kooks; in 2005. But she won’t be bullied into talking about her personal life. Kylie has just finished her courageous battle against cancer. I think that out of most current music stars, she is one of the few that deserve our entire attention and appreciation.
It’s a grand gesture to make a dog commercial supporting a law anti dog fighting but unfortunately I can’t help wondering if the real reason Nelson agreed to appear in television isn’t the sad reality that country music died and this was the only way for him to show the world he didn’t die along with it.
The bill he is supporting is meant to stop Georgia’s dog fight organizers form organizing such events and also selling and breeding dogs with this sole purpose. Nelson just smiles sadly at the camera, while the background sound plays one of his hits. Why didn’t they write something for him to say to people I can’t understand, it would have made the commercial more interesting…
I don’t know whether to be surprised or just disgusted. Shock rocker Marilyn Manson is well known for being different; and that’s putting it nicely. He is currently in law proceedings with former keyboardist, Madonna Wayne Gacy (Real Name: Stephen Gregory Bier Jr.); who claims that Manson did not pay him during his time in the band. During these proceedings, a new complaint has been filed. Gacy claims that the singer squandered the bands profits on purchasing not cars, women, houses…oh no, nothing as ordinary as that. No, he is accused of purchasing items made from HUMAN REMAINS.
Urgh. Excuse me while I go throw up. I mean, I am the type of person that grimaces at stuff made from ivory, or animal bones. But Manson goes one step further, splashing out millions on Nazi memorabilia (just plain weird), a skeleton of a young Chinese girl, a skeleton of a man in a wheelchair, and African masks made of human skin;.amongst other freaky things. Shudder.
I’m not sure if I should be more worried that you can actually purchase a human skeleton; given the right amount of cash. Granted the types of items are illegal to own in the US, but obviously its still happening! What is this world we live in?
Manson’s representatives have yet to comment on this recent revelation. Surprise.
Congrats are in order for Timbaland, real name Tim Mosley, and his publicist/fiancee Monique Idlett on the birth of their baby girl a few days ago.
Timbaland, who may be best known for his collaboration with Justin Timberlake on SexyBack, reportedly proposed to Idlett during their baby shower last month. A source close to the couple says, “They’re both really happy together.” The couple plans to wed sometime next year.
The Grammy winner has partnered with an array of stars during his career. He can be found with the likes of Dr. Dre and many others. His latest studio release Timbaland Presents Shock Value includes talent such as Nelly Furtado, Missy Elliot, and Nina Simone.
His latest collaboration with Idlett may be his finest work yet. Who knows – his next release may be Timbaland Presents Rock-a-bye Baby.

Well, it was a great two-show deal.
According to his rep, Ne-Yo will no longer be a part of the R. Kelly tour. Ne-Yo states, “I am disappointed that I won’t be able to perform for my fans. I love being onstage because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you – and they were really feeling our show.”
Word was given to Ne-Yo’s posse on Monday that he would be let go from the remainder of the tour. Apparently, the two could not reach an agreement on a contract. Kelly’s spokesperson told MTV News, “This was a contractual issue between Ne-Yo and the promoter, not Kelly’s decision at all.” Ne-Yo believed, as of Sunday, that all issues had been resolved.
Not to worry, though. Ne-Yo’s got plenty of other activities to keep him busy. The Vegas singer/songwriter performed with Rihanna on Sunday at the American Music Awards. He announced the masquarade ball that his Compound Foundation would be hosting, and he appeared on World Children’s Day for the Ronald McDonald House. He even appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Ne-Yo isn’t the first performer to be dropped early from an R. Kelly tour. In 2004, Kelly’s tour with Jay-Z ended early. Apparently when you sign to tour with Kelly, you do so at your own risk.
On Thursday night, the Spice Girls did their first ever performance in nearly ten years at the 2007 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. And just like that, the ball gets rolling on their comeback.
Come Friday, the Girls once again performed live from Los Angeles on BBC One’s Children in Need special. The girls sang the same two songs they did the night prior, ‘Stop’ and ‘Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)’. They lipsynched again but who cares, it’s for charity anyway.
Their latest single is also actually the official single of Children in Need. Profits raised from sales of the singe will go to the charity. So buy away.
When it comes to Beth Ditto, subtlety is the last word you’d ever think of. And the Gossip front woman proves just that as she is featured in an interview in the new issue of Spin. In it, she talks about her label, her music and her body.
She was asked about whether she thinks it’s marginalizing to be on a label for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender artists to which she replies with a no. She thinks that she doesn’t have to explain much when she’s sitting in a room with people who have the same views as her. She also gushed about how nice it was to hear that Keira Knightley thought Beth had “the most amazing bodyâ€. She says it’s good to hear people like her to say that because others listen to her.
Kelly Clarkson is about to work her not-so-impressive songs much more as she and country legend Reba McEntire are reportedly going on tour together. The joint tour will kick off on January 17th in Dayton, Ohio and ends by February 16th in Kansas City, Missouri.
That’s 1 night, 1 band, 2 singers. Too bad everyone will have to sit through all the crappy songs from Kelly’s new album with a few sprinkles of her past hits but we’ve all got Reba to look out for.
Kelly has been a lifelong fan of Reba and even hired Reba’s husband as her new manager this year.
Britney Spears’ record label backed out of a diva battle on the charts by actually releasing her album early. But neither Celine Dion nor Alicia Keys are scared to get a little competition in.Both divas released new albums this week, and while there was no Kanye West and 50 Cent hype that went on around them, both are projected to sell very well. However, only one singer can take the top spot and it seems to be Alicia.
The R&B singer’s latest album is expected to move 550,000 copies while Celine’s ‘Taking Chances’, the Canadians’ first English-language album in 4 years, is expected to sell around 250,000. Congratulations to both for their respective success.
The start of the Spice Girls world tour is only a few weeks away yet we haven’t heard anything regarding their practices and whatnot. But just to keep us all entertained and interested, Posh Spice is back with a blog entry on the girls’ official website.
In it, she talks about her guest appearance on ‘Ugly Betty’, the upcoming Victoria’s Secret fashion show as well as her charity work with Children in Need. But most importantly, she talks about what’s up with rehearsals and such.

Just hours after paying her first visit to hubby Blake Fielder-Civil in prison, the “Rehab” singer kicked off the first night of her oft-delayed U.K. tour Wednesday, slurring her way through lyrics, insulting the audience and walking off stage midsong.
It doesn’t matter how good she is. The music industry is littered with more “one hit wonders” than with success stories. If she wants to throw it away, let her. I’m sure there are a million more just waiting to take her place and with equal or better talent. Just do it on your own time, please, Amy. She hasn’t even “made it” all the way yet and she’s screwing it up already. I think the girl is talented and I like her music. It’s lovely what drugs and boozing does to anyone (lol) but to see someone be given a chance to succeed and screw it up is just pitiful.
Fall Out Boy ‘front man’ Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson both attended ‘Vive Le Karaoke’ at the Angels & Kings bar in New York City on Monday night. The event was hosted by Nylon Magazine, designer Tommy Hilfiger and Crush.
Pete opened up his new bar Angels & Kings this past April and he has described it by saying “And I’m not the kind of person that’s like, ‘All right, I’ll meet up with you guys later,’ It’s like, what’s the fun in going out to a place if you’re just sitting around in a VIP lounge with a bunch of other people on their BlackBerrys?…This is a bar for all the rejects.â€

John Mayer is having a benefit concert this December for local charities in LA. The concert poster that was released for the event has come to prove that Mr. Mayer is one narcissistic guy. I find it very odd because he isn’t really the best looking guy out there especially when in concert.
The bill advertises John Mayer Acoustic, The John Mayer Trio and John Mayer and His Band. Was that really necessary? He should have just put John Mayer in big neon print and I would have appreciated it more.
But hey, if you love the guy, there are apparently three reasons for you to go to the show.
Good girl gone bad Rihanna graces the latest issue of Britain’s YOU magazine. In the magazine she talks about her crack addict father, Justin Timberlake, and her new image. New images the only image that this good singer but bad girl has is the one of being nasty and badly behaved, and kindly all of you who like her please do not try and convince me the other way that she still has a good heart and she is posing as a bad girl but she is really a sweet heart from the inside, because isn’t one and I am not taking any of this. Hopefully she has got any of the effects of her father’s addiction problems, coz if she has any of it then it will start showing in some time when the adulation and the fame she has acquired and slowly she starts feeling the pressures and some failures that’s the time when she will require some help and alcohol will let her be high and helping forgetting the problems.

KT is jealous and hateful – Carrie Underwood is a wonderful artist who did co write 4 or more songs on her new album. She plays guitar and piano, and graduated from college with high honors. KT is jealous that Carrie won the Grammy because she wanted to win- pathetic. She also cashed in royalty checks from American Idol when Katherine Mcphee sang her stupid cherry tree song. So she is a hypocrite- because she took American Idol’s money- yet bashes the show. Wanker! Carrie has more class and talent than KT does in her hypocritical and jealous finger. And Carrie is not the only person KT has bashed. She bashed Katherine mcphee too- for singing her song, and several other artists. I hope that black horse poops on her cherry tree. Go CARRIE!
