Well with celebrities bringing in new ways to do things all over the place it is refreshing to hear that some do stick to the old ways – even if they might be considered a little old fashioned.
Girl Aloud star Nicola Roberts has revealed her old fashioned ways by stating that she believes a relationship is not ‘proper’ if the girl proposes to the boy. She has been dating boyfriend Carl Davies for almost a year but says she would not dream of getting down on one knee.
Nicola said: “It’s the boy’s job. It’s not a proper relationship if the boy doesn’t propose.”
But with rumours flying about her blazing rows with Chris is she a little ahead of herself. When talking about engagement rings she said, “”We haven’t started looking yet, but I like the idea of an antique ring.â€
So is it wishful thinking or can we expect wedding bells in 2008?
Country crooner Toby Keith’s father H.K. Covel was driving on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma back in 2001 when his truck was bumped by another vehicle which caused it to cross the center median, where it was hit by a charter bus carrying 21 passengers. Covel died that night.
According to evidence presented at trial, the bus that hit Covel’s truck was ‘in urgent need’ of brake repairs. Thus, the jury ruled unanimously against the owners of the bus, Rodriguez Transporters and the Republic Western Insurance Co. of Arizona. The jury awarded Toby and his family $2.8 million in damages in the death of his father.

The R&B singer was recently in court – just two days after he missed his original scheduled appearance due to some difficulties with his tour buses in Utah. The judge was not pleased about that saying that the court had worked around Kelly’s tour schedule when it really doesn’t have to. Kelly then apologized and the judge decided not to revoke his bail. The judge then allowed for Kelly to perform at his Chicago concert over the weekend. Let’s just hope he didn’t pick up any underage females on the way.
Latin rapper Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Perez, was arrested in Miami, Florida early Friday morning and it sounds like he had some odd dance moves for the cops.
According to the police report, Perez was stopped after flying past a marked cop car when he was doing 93 mph in a 55 zone. At first, the rapper wouldn’t get out of his car. When he finally did, the officer wrote that he “could detect a strong breath odor of alcohol over the gum he was chewing†and that his speech was rapid and slurred. And the sobriety tests? He couldn’t do the finger-to-nose touch, he was swaying, and basically mangled the ‘walk and turn’ portion of the test, losing his balance, stepping off line and starting without being told to do so.

Amy Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of “perverting the course of justiceâ€. For all those who don’t speak British, that means interfering with a police investigation. But it’s not as heavy as the arrest for her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The singer’s rep has confirmed that Wino has been arrested but explains that this is common practice in the UK. A person is technically arrested when they are brought in for questioning but Wino has not been charged with anything and that her “arrest†was actually “by appointmentâ€. She has since been released but is due back for more questioning in March.
Natasha Bedingfield has a new album which would be out next month and the second single off of it just has me falling in love with her all over again.
The song is called ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’ and it could easily be a companion to Natasha’s smash hit ‘Unwritten’. It’s sure to be another hit with music lovers because it can easily be classified as radio friendly. Natasha is one of the few artists making pure pop and she does it unapologetically. It’s really official! The Spice Girls are not only back together but they are back on the road! The five-strong girl group from the UK kicked off their world tour on Sunday in Vancouver and they looked gorgeous!
It really looked like they spared no expense when it comes to their costumes as each new one they put on made them all look uniquely fabulous. What’s more beautiful than that is the fact that they made good on their promise that they would be singing live for the tour. They worked that show just as hard as when ‘girl power’ first hit big.
Whitney Houston made her big comeback at the Live & Loud music festival in Malaysia on Saturday. While it’s admirable that she’s determined to get back on stage, a lot of people are wishing that she had more time to prepare.
Reviews on her comeback performance are making the rounds already. People are saying that Whitney’s set at the festival was probably the most anticipated of all performances. Honestly, I love her. Something about her just makes me feel for her; she’s not annoying, she’s not creepy….I don’t know. So, I start this off by saying that I want her to succeed.
Unfortunately, her debut release Tattoo isn’t doing so well. Last year it was Taylor Hicks - he won the record for the weakest debut yet of an American Idol winner. Now, it look like Jordin may just take that title from him.
Is it Jordin that people aren’t smitten with? Or is it just that the American Idol fever is wearing off? Who can really say? I guess we’ll find out when American Idol returns to television with a new season in January.
It could be the lack of hype surrounding Tattoo. Or it could be that Jordin’s album was released among new albums from the likes of Alicia Keyes, Garth Brooks, and Josh Groban.
Whatever the case, will we see Sparks fly in the end? Or will she fizzle before she flames?
