Mariah Carey’s new album is set to come out in stores on May 20 but there has been no new single to come off of it yet. It was first said that her new single would come out on Tuesday. However, Tuesday has come and gone and the lambs still have no new single to listen to. It looks like the premiere for the song has been pushed back another week – until next Tuesday, they say. What is up? First, there were delays on releasing her album and now there are delays on the single too. Is it that bad?

Who knew that a Swedish dance pop sensation can take a hip hop song, make it a duet and actually get it to sound amazing? Robyn has put her magic on Snoop Dogg’s new single ‘Sexual Eruption’ into a duet and completely made the song her own. Her rework of the song is definitely something different and special. There aren’t any words to express just how amazing her job on it was. The original song was already hot but Robyn just brought it to a whole other level. Robyn may just be the most exciting force in pop music right now.

In a self-conscious fit last Friday, John Mayer deleted al of his past entries from his official blog and claimed to be “DONE & DUSTED & SELF-CONSCIOUS & BACK TO WORK.” But it seems that he has updated that latest and supposedly last entry on Saturday.

At the end of his last entry, the singer left a quote saying “There is danger in theoretical speculation of battle, in prejudice, in false reasoning, in pride, in braggadocio. There is one safe resource, the return to nature…” He linked the ‘n’ in speculation to a time travel forum. On Saturday, he updated the entry by removing that link and inserting a link on the entire work resource which links to a garbled webpage at Potatloland.com which has links to a lot of YouTube videos. It looks like John likes to play with our minds.

Tt’s 100% real and 100% official! Amy Winehouse has entered a rehabilitation clinic on Thursday as confirmed by her record label Universal Music Group. Praise the Lord!

The singer has been under fire recently for her ongoing battle against drug addiction. The most recent incident was when damning evidence of a video of her smoking crack came out. Her reps have released a statement saying “Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors. She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction and prepare for her planned appearance at the Grammy Awards. … Amy entered the facility by mutual agreement and continues to receive the full support of all concerned.” They tried to make me go to rehab, I said yes, yes, yes!

American Idol wannabe Sanjaya Malakar was spotted getting cozy and walking arm-in-arm with an unidentified female friend in Los Angeles on Sunday. Third wheel sister Shyamali also accompanied the pair for lunch. The brother-sister pair now share a house in LA.

Sanjaya recently talked to People about his music career saying “I’m not in the recording stages yet. I’m writing music and starting to interview producers. If I had to define it, it would be alternative pop rock, like Paolo Nutini or James Morrison.” He also hopes to do a variety show similar to ‘Donny & Marie’ in the 1970s saying “[Shyamali and I are] Donny and Marie for the next generation!” You wish!

Just days after suffering a miscarriage, Lily Allen had to put on a happy face and pretended just like nothing happened. The ‘Smile’ singer began filming her new British TV show just this past Wednesday. ‘Lily Allen and Friends’ is a variety show that will feature different celebrities and musical acts. The singer’s MySpace friends will be the audience members.

I get how the show must go on but she needs time to mourn her loss. But then again, immersing herself in her work may just be how she’s dealing. Let’s just hope for the best when it comes to Lily’s mentality right now.

Mary J. Blige is praying Amy Winehouse survives her battle with drugs, because the future of music relies on her.

Well a lot of people are praying for Amy I am sure but I doubt for the same reasons.

The RnB superstar senses music is heading for a renaissance, and needs talents like Winehouse to help the industry recover from years of “drought”.

She says “Someone like Amy Winehouse is so important to the music business right now. It’s very painful to see her battle drugs. I hope she makes it. I think the music industry kind of got lost and we ended up in a drought for a while, but I see it making a turn, so instead of music being just synthetic, we’ll see it going back to actual instruments. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway, because that’s the kind of music I’m making.”

After a month-long search, the three-year old daughter of electronic musician Brian Transeau, who performs under the name BT, was found last week. A team of US Marshals, two private investigation teams and the Santa Monica PD had been searching for Kaia since December and finally located her. Her mother, Ashley Duffy, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Lynwood Jail without bail.

According to the authorities, Duffy abducted Kaia from BT’s Maryland hotel room. She was supposedly there for a visit but instead took the kid. A warrant for Duffy’s arrest came out two weeks ago for “out-of-state child abduction from the lawful custodian” and “out-of-state child detention from the lawful custodian”.

Foxy Brown wants out of jail and she’s getting creative. No, she’s not planning to do a prison break. The rapper actually asked a judge to let her out of her year-long prison stay early because her hearing aid is malfunctioning and she needs to get it fixed. And it’s not going to be fixed by just any doctor. She needs to go to Hollywood to get it repaired by an expert there! A lawyer for Foxy told the judge that there may be one or two places in New York that can do cochlear implant adjustments but that the rapper needs to go to Hollywood if she wants to properly repair her “progressively deteriorating hearing loss.”

Enter another celeb with plans to adopt. Maybe this excitement will fix the problem of too many children and not enough homes. Oh wait, they all go to another country to find these children.

Paula Abdul says, “I want kids! If it doesn’t happen naturally, I can always adopt!” Despite rumors that she’s in the process, it seems that Paula is just keeping this as a backup plans. There’s always the possibility that she will have a biological child with boyfriend J.T. Torregiani, as long as that lasts.

Her reason for having/getting a child? To avoid being lonely. She says, “I’ve experienced real loneliness, so I love knowing there’s someone I can share the good and the not-so-good with.” Umm, yeah, you should have a baby so you’ll have a friend. Smart move.

Bjork has gone bonkers! The eccentric singer attacked a photographer shortly after she arrived at a New Zealand Airport on Sunday. She tore a New Zealand Herald photographer’s shirt after he took a picture of her arriving at the airport early Sunday. According to the New Zealand Herald, a man who was with Bjork asked that no pictures be taken but the pap snapped away. The photographer said that as he turned and walked away, the singer came up behind him, grabbed the back of his shirt and tore it.

He claims that Bjork didn’t say anything the whole time but her male companion kept saying for her to not do it.

After rumors of body doubles and fans crying foul, Miley Cyrus and her crew responded. As you know, Miley performs as both herself and her TV personality Hannah Montana. In a fast paced concert, how’s she supposed to do it?

According to her rep, “To help speed the transformation from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley.”

Supposedly the double only hits the stage for a couple of minutes during the song she performs with the Jonas Brothers. This time allows her to remove the Hannah costume, including wig, and reappear as Miley for her solo performances.

American Idol alum Katharine McPhee was recently dropped by her record label RCA. Her debut album only sold 366,000 copies and even failed to go gold. She joins the likes of Idol winners Rubben Studdard and Taylor Hicks of dropped Idols.

But that doesn’t mean she has to give up her so-called star status. The 23-year old wannabe singer hit up the Golden Globes gift bag event on Wednesday at Voda Spa in West Hollywood with one of her gal pals. Too bad that the Globes aren’t going to happen either – just like her career! Except, no one is on strike for Kat. She just got fired.

Amy Winehouse hit the headlines (as she does on a regular occasion) a few months ago for receiving the most number of nominations for the annual Grammy awards; despite her controversial lifestyle.

Amy has received six nominations for the show and has been lined up as the big star of the ceremony. But all could be in jeopardy as US officials have demanded that in order to gain a visa to enter the country Amy must take a drug test to prove she is clean.

Predictably this has her team desperately pulling out their hair; as sources say she would have to be clean of drugs for weeks to pass – and the award ceremony is February 10th. Amy has said she isn’t ready to quit so her performance is really on the line. Her recent holiday in Mustique was all about getting clean; and it did help; but it is hard to believe there will be a time before going to the US that she would pass the test.

So did you hear about Taylor Swift’s wreck? No? Well, it seems a fan was involved in a little fender bender with her.

Taylor’s response? She very willingly autographed a piece of her broken piece of her taillight for the fan. Then what happened?

Taylor said, “Then it was crazy. Five minutes later this other woman saw me on the side of the road and decided that she wanted to get an autograph for her daughter. So she pulled over to get my autograph and then somebody hit her car. It was quite the experience.”

Hope that autograph was worth the cost to fix that dent….

In the world of divas, you can be categorized into two – the diva and the diva bitch. Mariah Carey falls into the diva category. However, some people tried to put her into that other category. Too bad no one believed them.

False internet reports ran rampant on Monday quoting the singer saying that she would rather share a stage with a pig than with Jennifer Lopez. Mariah got wind of it and has gone on the record saying that the reports are “a complete untruth.” She adds “This is just some Internet gossip and it’s pathetic that people actually entertain the thought that this could be real. This is another sad example of two strong women being pit against each other.”

The Jonas Brothers met another famous family backstage at their Atlantic City, New Jersey concert. They met the family of 53-year old supermodel Christie Brinkley. They took time to pose with Christie’s 12-year old son Jack Paris (far right) and 9-year old daughter Sailor Lee (standing next to Joe) and some other friends.

The picture was taken just a little before Joe tripped and ran into a wall while taping a YouTube video for the group’s video channel. He got a few stitches and is doing fine. Miley Cyrus was also seen backstage. There was no sign of the fake Hannah though.

If you’re a celebrity, you can do what the heck to want. A normal person would have to stay in the hospital for 72 hours if they went through all the drama that Britney Spears went through on Thursday night. But the pop wreck was able to bolt from Cedars-Sinai on Saturday, not even 48 hours since she got admitted and put under psychiatric evaluation.

To make it all Hollywood and surreal, The Insider is reporting that none other than Dr. Phil McGraw paid the fallen pop star a visit on Saturday morning and was seen walking her to her car. Why would the hospital release her?

Australian singing sweethearts Natalie Imbruglia and Silverchair front man Daniel Johns are getting a divorce. They recently released a joint statement regarding their split.

“While we are very sad that our marriage has ended, we want to make it clear that our parting is amicable and we remain friends. This mutual decision has not been taken lightly or quickly. However, our career demands and our lives in different parts of the world have brought us to the point where unfortunately this difficult decision was necessary for both of us. We have simply grown apart through not being able to spend enough time together.”

I know very few people who don’t love Sheryl Crow but you can’t deny that her musical output these past couple of years has been a bit uninspired. Thus, not fun for any of us listeners. However, now that she’s a mom, the singer seems to have a new lease on life and is more content in life which definitely reflects itself in her music.

Sheryl has a new single called ‘Love is Free’ and it’s a really feel-good song that’s reminiscent of the Sheryl of the good old days. The single is just beautiful and happy and, dare I say it, reminiscent of early Beach Boys. Now that should say something.
