The Counting Crows front man Adam Duritz is opening up about his mental illness and is admitting publicly that he has spent the last couple of years battling severe depression and an inability to connect with people. After years of not being able to figure out what was wrong, Duritz finally found a doctor who cleared up the issue and diagnosed him with a disassociative disorder which can distort reality for those who have it. Duritz is now quite open about his illness which is clear in the band’s new album ‘Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings’ – a double album inspired by his painful journey.
Singer Corinne Bailey Rae has issued a statement of appreciation for fans’ sympathy in regards to the sudden death of her husband. Saxophonist Jason Rae was found dead in their home last weekend.
Her rep says, “Corinne Bailey Rae and her family have been touched by the huge amount of love and support that’s flooded in from all over the world, and that is really helping all of us cope at this terrible time. Corinne is also grateful for the privacy she is being given and the respect that has been paid to herself and Jason.”
Remy Ma made a crazy defense in the case of her shooting Makeda Barnes Joseph. The defense for the rapper acknowledged that she had shot her friend but in its closing, said that the gun went off during a struggle over a bag. Remy says that her victim had reached into her bag and that she thought had stolen $3,000 from her. When Joseph refused to dump her own bag, they tussled over the purse and the gun went off resulting to Joseph getting shot in the abdomen. What judge or jury will be crazy enough to actually believe that piece of crap defense?
Corinne Bailey-Rae is mourning over the sudden and tragic death of her husband. Its alleged that saxophonist Jason Rae, 31, died of a drink and drug overdose. Police found his body on Saturday in the Hyde Park area of Leeds, and subsequently arrested a 32 year old man on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs.
Rae was the saxophonist in The Haggis Horns, who’d performed with Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse. The band have cancelled their upcoming shows.
Corinne and Jason met in a Leeds jazz club and were married in 2001.

The Black Eyed Peas front woman performed solo in Las Vegas this past weekend still looking plump around the belly. The ‘Glamorous’ singer was also wearing a slimming flesh-colored tank top underneath her white vest. The white vest has been part of her wardrobe for a long time now and this was the first time that Fergie started wearing a tank top underneath it. It’s just too bad that her tour wardrobe doesn’t include long, loose-fitting and flowing dresses like JLo.

Chris recently spoke with MTV Base this past week and the 18-year old crooner has joined the 20-year old Barbadian babe in denying their relationship saying “I am a single guy. The 20-year old shirtless young man was directed by Sanji, who most recently did American Idol alum Blake Lewis’ music video for ‘Break Anotha’. ‘Leavin’ is the first single off of Jesse’s upcoming third album ‘Departure’. It’s said to be his most personal solo record yet and is expected to be released on May 20. The video is already all over the net for everyone to see. But if you’re going to watch, be warned. It’s overly sexual.
The Jonas Brothers are growing up so fast! *sniffs* It only seems like yesterday when the band of brothers started to open tours for Miley ‘Hannah Montana’ Cyrus. And it’s just recently that they went out on their own ‘When You Look Me in the Eyes’ tour. On Wednesday, the musical siblings have just announced a new tour – the ‘Burning Up’ tour. For the first time ever, Nick, Kevin and Joe are going to headline amphitheaters across North America this summer. The tour kicks off on July 4 in Toronto and will end on August 31 in Vermont. They’ve gotten really big.

At least 13 people, including some doctors, are being fired from UCLA Medical Center; Others are being suspended, and an investigation is continuing. Why? Because they spied on Britney Spears.
These people allegedly looked at her charts without authorization when she was recently held in the psych ward and when she gave birth to son Sean Preston in Santa Monica.
The director of the HR department said that the hospital treats celebrities “all the time and you never hear about thisl…I don’t know what it is about this particular person, I don’t know what it is about her.”
Gym Class Heroes MC Travis McCoy is opening up about his drug addiction and his attempts at getting clean by posting a frank entry on his official blog about his time in a detox program and what pushed him to get sober. He talked about the many years he’s been addicted to pharmaceuticals and his first stint in detox. He also mentioned that when people started dropping like flies around him due to addiction was when he realized that he needed to get clean. He talked about the new method that he went under called The Waisman Method. It’s a very good read. Anyone out there with a drug problem could probably learn a lot out of reading his entry.
Avril Lavinge is still soldiering on with her tour and the less than pleasant reviews keep pouring in as she goes. Globe and Mail from her native home of Canada summed it up with the title to their review saying “She’s like, so whatever.†The reviewer goes on to talk about how Avril’s original skateboard chick image pretty much disappeared except for a few splashes of the skull and crossbones imagery on the stage and how the show was more production-reliant than anything. Here’s the worst part of the review “none of it can make up for the worst damn truth about Avril Lavigne: she’s not a very good singer.â€
When you’re having trouble scoring a hit of your own, cover someone else’s hit song and you’re guaranteed to be talked about. It’s exactly what happened to Frankie J when he covered the Jonas Brothers hit ‘When You Look Me in the Eyes’. Frankie’s rendition was a very pretty acoustic and bilingual version – singing the whole second verse in Spanish. He took it to a different level and sounds really different from the Jonas’ version. I think he should record this for his own album. The little kid playing guitar and singing second voice was a really cute touch too.
It is being said that not only did Jennifer Lopez sell her babies’ pictures to People magazine for $6 million, she also got the magazine to agree to stop calling her JLo. A source is saying that JLo no mo’ made the deal for the money and threw in the moniker clause as well. Apparently, she also instructed people that in addition to the money and the name thing, her hubby Marc Anthony has to be the one to shoot the photos. However, a rep for People negates the story saying “This is absurd, but thanks for the additional publicity on the photos.â€

The Grammy Award-winning producer admits he used to raid the wardrobe of his writer mum Ann Dexter-Jones wardrobe looking for 70s-style flowery outfits.
He said: “When I was 14 I began playing in my first band, which had an early 70s Sly And The Family Stone-type funk influence, so I’d raid my mum’s wardrobe looking for flowery print shirts and psychedelic-looking overcoats. I even had my hair chopped in a bowl cut like The Stone Roses.”
Ronson, 32, insists his unusual fashion experiments were encouraged by his mother.
He said: “When I was 13 I put a blond streak in my hair, then it grew out. My mum encouraged me to put it in for my Bar Mitzvah because she didn’t want me looking like all the other kids.”
Kelly Clarkson continues to work hard and it seems like it’s paying off. The original American Idol rocked out the Entertainment Centre in Sydney, Australia last Thursday night. Over the weekend, the 25-year old singer performed at two more locations in Australia, more specifically, the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Broadmeadow, New South Wales and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall, Queensland. Opening the show for Kelly in Australia was none other than Mandy Moore who spoke about wanting to perform in Australia for quite some time. After her stint in Australia, Kelly went off to jolly old England for the European leg of her tour.
Before he got eliminated from the show, American Idol was trying to make Robbie Carrico into season 7’s version of Chris Daughtry, except maybe for the hair. But after careful research into Robbie’s history, it’s pretty obvious that he’s a lot closer to being the next Clay Aiken instead. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley were on hand to announce the nominations for the Academy of Country Music Awards on Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee. The country superstars announce the nominees at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Kenny Chesney led the pack with a whopping 11 nods which include entertainer of the year and top male vocalist. Rodney Atkins followed with 6 nods while Brad Paisley, Big & Rich and Sugarland got 4 nods each. The CMAs will be held in Las Vegas on May 18 and will air live on CBS. Carrie, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler are all scheduled to perform on the big night.

Britney Spears and Heidi Montag have recorded a duet together called ‘Dramatic’. It’s not what it seems though, especially when you take into account that one half of the team is a pop wreck and the other is part of ‘The Hills’. Both stars did appear on the track but it was not authorized by Brit. An insider reveals that “Heidi and Spencer got their hands on an old demo recording of Britney’s that never made it onto any of her albums… They decided to turn it into a duet instead of having Heidi re-record the song with just her vocals because they knew they’d get more press this way. â€

Fragile pop drug-addict Amy Winehouse is suffering from a mysterious painful lump on her face.
The troubled singer, 24, tried to conceal her swollen, bruised left cheek with make-up as she moved into a new home in East London.
But last night a close friend confirmed the health scare, adding that Amy had made an emergency appointment to see a doctor. The pal said: “She has suffered some form of skin infection - maybe an allergic reaction.”
However a doctor commented: “I think the most likely explanation is a direct blow, either accidental or deliberate. A skin complaint wouldn’t cause swelling. It could be she’s walked into a door or fallen over - which is very likely with her drug habit.”
Last night Amy’s spokesman said: “Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she’s been told can be highly contagious. Because of that se’s been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days.”
Impetigo is an infection of the skin caused by bacteria, which causes a blistered crusty rash. But it does not cause swelling.
