Joan Jett on Coming Out

It’s pretty clear to the public that rock icon Joan Jett is a lesbian yet everyone is still wondering why she hasn’t publicly come out with it yet. The rocker recently spoke to Spinner magazine and shed some light on that. She says “It really boils down to this: I want to please everybody. I want every guy and every girl thinking that I’m singing these songs to them, because I am. If I make a hard, fast case on where I stand then that takes away a lot of the fantasy. Music entails a lot of fantasy. I want people to be able to go there with me. Some people might think it’s a cop-out. I don’t care. That’s how I feel.”
It’s pretty cleaar to anyone who has followed your singing where you stand. I love you music and the way you totally rock out. You were my first girl crush at the ago of fourteen.
still feel that way and love watching you rock out no matter how you come at it. Keep rocking!

I could care less about your sexual orientation , as far as I’m concerned your private life is none of my business. I love your music. Hard, fast, straight up rock’n roll, youre one serious asskickin rocker!!

It does matter what your sexual orientation is, but not that it should effect whether people like your music. You let all your straight male fans down who had a crush on you. In their fantasies, they all had a shot at you, and you practically admitted to Spinner Magazine that you strung them along. Why should anyone (famous or not) prefer the same gender when there could be someone of the opposite gender who is interested in them? Maybe there is just something keeping them from asking the person out.
Anyway, “I Love Rock and Roll” was probably my first record. There are many other songs I like from you too. You have always rocked and probably always will! I certainly don’t “hate myself for loving you”!

Shazbatt … I’ve got a MALE friend who’d LOVE to meet you; he’d like a shot at rocking YOUR world! Maybe HE’S “the one” for you.

She hasn’t publicly admitted to being a Lesbian because it’s so obvious that she is. Coming Out is for people you don’t even suspect are Gay. Joan is quite obviously into women.

Shazbatt - It’s just like some egomaniac guy to say that it’s because she hasn’t met the right guy yet. I guess you are that guy? Sexual orientation is not about choice. Just as you wouldn’t choose to be with a same-sex person, why would she “choose” that over being accepted in society? Seriously, think about it rationally.
I say that her sexual orientation is no one’s business. And, just because she is attracted to women doesn’t mean mean can’t still be attracted to her. Rock on, Joan!

Some of you say it was obvious she is into women. Now why would that be? I never suspected it. Nor did I ever worry about it. Should I not like Elton John because he is gay? Who cares what a person’s sexual orientation is? {Other than the person they go to bed with.}Keep on
Rockin Joan! I Love Rock and Roll!

I think it’s too bad that Joan Jett is into women. Personally I think her mouth would look great with a penis jammed in it
