The guys in Plain White T’s have learned a bit about life since “Hey There Delilah” and that’s no more evident than in the new video for the infectious single, “Natural Disaster”. No longer is the band wallowing after long gone college sweethearts; this time they’re the ones with the upper hand as they swagger into the club and can have their pick of any girl who crosses their path. Is Delilah is the one who’s jealous now?

Metallica have just premiered the video for their single “The Day That Never Comes” on their MySpace page. The epic clip was directed by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg and filmed this past July in southern California. On working with the acclaimed filmmaker, Hetfield explained to MTV.com, “That’s the beauty, I think, of writing vague but powerful lyrics — that someone like a movie director can interpret it in his own way and obviously, someone creative is able to take the metaphors and apply them to whatever he needs in his own life.”

The band have also just unveiled another song from their upcoming album Death Magnetic. The hard-charging track, “Cyanide” is now available for sale on iTunes.

Alkaline Trio and Tegan & Sara together?

Posted in Alkaline Trio, New Single by Amanda @ Sep 30, 2008

The seed was planted when Alkaline Trio covered Tegan and Sara’s “Wake Up Exhausted” and released it as a b-side on their “Help Me” 7-inch single. Now you can see the Trio perform that song with Tegan Quin as part of their set at Spinner’s Interface. The set list also included songs from Alkaline Trio’s new album Agony & Irony: “Help Me”, “Calling All Skeletons,” and “Do You Wanna Know”.

From Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio: “Hi all! We had a blast with Tegan. We are HUGE fans and it was not only fun but a real honor for us to play with her.”

Jack White Did Not Sell Out Alicia Keys

Posted in Alicia Keys, Songs by Amanda @ Sep 25, 2008

Jack White is not happy with corporate America. The song that he and Alicia Keys have put together for the new James Bond movie went straight to a Coke commercial. Jack wants to make sure we all know that he had nothing to do with the sell out decision. His statement via his reps says “Jack White was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the James Bond film ‘Quantum Of Solace’, not for Coca Cola. Any other use of the song is based on decisions made by others, not by Jack White. We are disappointed that you first heard the song in a co-promotion for Coke Zero, rather than in its entirety.”

Janet Jackson recently kicked off her new Rock With U tour in Vancouver to amazing reviews. A critic for the Vancouver Sun said “It is a reminder that she is a trend-setter in her own right, a true diva, and a marvellous performer.” The show lasted for a whopping 2 and a half hours, featured around 10 dancers and a lot of costume changes for Miss Jackson. Her final set list features some of her most famous songs from some of her biggest albums. If you’re a new Janet fan, going to her show is the best way to get yourself acquainted with her stuff.

    Taylor Swift Announces CMA Nominees

Taylor Swift recently appeared on Good Morning America to announce the nominations for the CMA Awards. Rascal Flatts joined the country sweetheart to announce nominations for the upcoming Country Music Association awards. The 18-year old singer is up for top female vocalist and will be up against Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood. As the nominees were announced live, Taylor exclaimed “I can’t believe it! I’m really having a good morning!” Being in the company of Rascal Flatts and having been announced as a nominee with competition such as the ones mentioned, who wouldn’t have a great morning?

Jonas Brothers Get Attacked on VMAs

Posted in Jonas Brothers, MTV, Music, VMA by Amanda @ Sep 23, 2008

    vma-onas-brohters.jpg

The Jonas Brothers were the hot topic of attack by British comedian and 2008 MTV Video Music Awards host Russell Brand. But the band of brothers said that they weren’t hurt. The boys had an interview with BBC on Tuesday about being the comic’s target and all the purity jokes. Nick said “For us it’s cool to see that he recognizes we are gentlemen. I think he did a good job. We saw him on Conan O’Brien and thought he was hilarious.” Kevin says that Russell didn’t ruin their night in the slightest. He said “We had a lot of friends there and everybody’s so nice. We had a good time.”

    Deborah Cox Returns

Posted in Deborah Cox, Leona Lewis, Whitney Houston by Amanda @ Sep 23, 2008

    deborah-cox.jpg

Deborah Cox has been demoted mainly to the gay circuit and the club play charts these days but the one-time Whitney Houston could have been has a potential mainstream hit on her hands. If Leona Lewis got a hold of this song, it would be a huge international smash. It would prove to be interesting to see if radio would give Deborah a chance. ‘Beautiful U R’ is an exquisite mid-tempo jam which is musically exciting and lyrically uplifting. You wouldn’t get sick of it that easily even if you put it on repeat for a whole day. It really has a lot of potential.

    Beyonce Knowles is a Cop

Posted in Beyonce, Music Video, Song Leaked by Amanda @ Sep 19, 2008

    beyonce-knowles_cop.jpg

Lately I came across a mini video clip which showed that Beyonce Knowles is a cop in fact.

However it was later revealed that it was a snippet from her newest music video, “If I Were a Boy.”

The video is the first single from her upcoming album, which is supposedly called as “Virtuoso Intellect” or “B’Ware”.

The video of the song “If I Were a Boy” will be released on October 7.

Had the sexy Beyonce Knowles been a real cop, who would not like to be arrested?

I would have been the first person to commit crime, just to fulfill my wildest fantasy to be manhandled by a sizzling hot Knowles.

Who else wants to join me behind the bars???

    Raise your hands!!!!

    Leona Lewis at Fashion Rocks

Posted in Fashion Rocks, Leona Lewis, Radio by Amanda @ Sep 19, 2008

    leona-lewis-at-fashion-rocks.jpg

Leona Lewis walked the red carpet at the Conde Nast Media Group’s 2008 Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall in New York City last week. Why the hell wasn’t she tapped to perform? I would have liked it more if she performed rather than have to see Miley Cyrus act like she belongs when she’s clearly a wannabe. Leona’s name is much more fitting in line with the other big artists who performed like Beyonce, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake. I would actually like to see Leona and Justin do a duet. Maybe next time. Or maybe for a new album.

British musician James Morrison calls a diva a BITCH

Posted in Divas, Madonna, Singers by Amanda @ Sep 19, 2008

    james-morisson.jpg

Well, that’s a nifty idea. WE ALL KNOW THAT DIVAS ARE BITCHES.
James claims Madonna is just one rude bitch just like the rest of them. .
He’s even named her “the most impolite celebrity” he’s ever met. As if he has met other celebs!
Morrison was in Los Angeles working at a studio when he introduced himself to her Madge. That’s when she said nothing and ignored him.
Morrison said during a recent interview, “I was recording in a studio in LA and she came in to speak to a producer and someone asked if I wanted to meet her. I’m not her biggest fan but thought I’d say hello so I went over and said: ‘Hello, I’m James, nice to meet you,” and put my hand out to shake hands.”
That’s very polite of him. .
Then he adds, “She just looked at it and said: ‘And what do you do?’ I told her I was a singer and she just stared at me and didn’t say anything. It was really uncomfortable. Then she just ignored me.”
    Ooooooh, that must have hurt!
Maybe Madge was upset? Was it menopause? Was it because her husband was last seen going crazy in his own party?
Morrison adds, “Fuck her, though, it’s just a matter of common courtesy. It doesn’t matter what someone does for a living. She’s just rude. There’s no excuse for it.”
I have to agree that was rude of her.

    Lily is Sorry

Posted in Elton John, Lily Allen by Amanda @ Sep 17, 2008

    lily-allen.jpg

British train wreck Lily Allen has gone to her blog to apologize and express some guilt and shame for her behaviour at the GQ awards last week. She should feel like crap for getting wasted on stage and telling her co-host, music icon Elton John to eff off during a presentation. She described her emotional state as “dying inside” and also wrote that she “feels like killing” herself, though the statement was removed later on. In an earlier post, she also wrote “’Was he upset? I’m worried now, was I mean?” How does she think Sir Elton would feel after her outburst, fine and dandy?

Mariah Carey is NAKED, well almost naked!!!

Posted in Mariah Carey, Nude Picture by Amanda @ Sep 15, 2008

    mariah-carey-naked.jpg

Would you like to put your hands on a beautiful lady wearing her natural dress only, along with a black hat?

Oh! It’s definitely a YES, from all of you. Isn’t it?

And if I tell you that the smart lady is Mariah Carey then you probably would die to lay your hands on the sexy babe.

And what would you like to do if I tell you that Mariah Carey is actually begging you all to touch her?

Yes! The stunning singer Mariah Carey is all set to fascinate her fans by singing her new title, “Touch My Body,” and the cover snap is equally lethal with the magnificent singer wearing nothing but a black hat.

The hot and sexy singer turns completely nude on the cover of her new album “E=MC2” except for the advantageously positioned topper, seized in position by the wild-haired singer over her front, covering her breasts and genitals with its great, broad edge.
    Keep it up!!!

    Britney Spears Opens VMAs

    britney-spears.jpg

A lot of rumors have swirled around that Britney Spears was going to be performing at the 2008 Video Music Awards especially after she shot a commercial with this year’s host, Russell Brand. MTV confirmed the news, sort of, when they said that she’s kicking off this year but will not be performing. Brit says “MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMA’s? I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated.” Honestly, I’m really surprised she got nominated for ‘Piece of Me’. That was crap!

    A Good Heidi Song

Posted in Heidi Montag, New Single by Amanda @ Sep 12, 2008

    heidi-montag.jpg

I’m somewhat ashamed to admit it but Heidi Montag’s latest effort in the music world is actually really good. It’s a departure from her average last single ‘Overdosin’. The new song is called ‘Party’s Wherever I Am’ and it’s got a pretty killer hook. It’s so catchy it’s like an STD. It’s so contagious that even I, the self-confessed Heidi hater, am actually liking the song. Clubs wouldn’t hesitate to play this song. Unless they find out immediately that she was the one who’s singing. The lyrics are pretty ridiculous at some points but it’s really all about the hook and the tune. It’s bound to get stuck in your head.

    Somebody Shut Jessica Simpson Up

Posted in Concert Tour, Country Music, Jessica Simpson, Performance by Amanda @ Sep 12, 2008

    jessica-simpson.png

Some people just don’t know when to shut up. Take Jessica Simpson for example. The aspiring country singer recently gave a concert in Ontario, Canada where she took the opportunity to talk about farts. According to her Niagara Falls Review, Jessica says “I do pass gas a lot. I guarantee it smells like roses.” Oh please. And in case you were wondering if the concert was any good, the paper’s reviewer says “It might be unfair calling Jessica Simpson’s show … a train wreck — at some point, a train knows where it’s going.” That hurts. But if it’s the truth, well, you know how the saying goes.

    Jonas Brothers = Hanson

Posted in Jonas Brothers, Music Bands by Amanda @ Sep 12, 2008

    hanson-band.jpg

Most people can argue that the Jonas Brothers are Hanson (2.0).

Recently, the much older Hanson’s shared nothing but ‘love’ for the new, wholesome, brotherly kings of pop.

From a recent interview with Access Hollywood, the Hanson’s share some thoughts about the Jonas brothers.

The eldest Hanson, Issac told the show:

“I wish them all the best in the world. It’s a hard job and they’re definitely packing a lot in.”

Taylor Hanson, on the other hand said:

“On the musical side, I think there’s very little similarity between us and the Jonas Brothers but I think they seem like really talented guys. They care about each other. [I] just really wish them a lot of luck. I hope they can translate what they’ve done into a career — a long career — in a similar way that we’ve been able to for many years. It’s a great privilege to be able to have this be your career… One clear thing the Jonas Brothers actually have going for them is they have written their own songs. I think what you see a lot of times, unfortunately people like Britney Spears or people that seem to go off the rails when they started out, it wasn’t really their deal. For us, people used to joke like, ‘We couldn’t stop you guys from doing it if we wanted to. When we were young, it was our songs, it was our show, it was our attitude, it was our vision for music videos… For better or worse it was always us. So instead of us waking up in a drunken stupor [years later] and realizing someone stole our money, we started off doing what we wanted and we continued.”

Good to know the Hansons have nice words for the younger generation.

I just wonder, how nice these words really are once the cameras are turned off.

They actually bring out a good point. One of the most
important things in a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG music career is writing your own music. Unlike most pop singers who just have the pipes but don’t have enough creativity to write their own tunes.

But, we wonder what the Hansons really say about the younger versions of themselves behind the camera.

    Mariah Carey Flops

Posted in Album Release, Mariah Carey, Records Sale by Amanda @ Sep 10, 2008

    mariah-carey.jpg

It just goes to show that lighting doesn’t strike the same place twice and that sequels aren’t always going to cut it. Mariah Carey’s ‘E=MC2’ is a dud as it sold only about a million copies and it’s already on the fourth single. Can you even name singles 2 and 3? Her previous album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ sold 10 million copies. This makes the latest one a disaster by comparison. Single number 4 off ‘E=MC2’ will be the song ‘I’m That Chick’ and it’s being serviced to radio early in September. For her dignity’s sake, I hope she starts working on a new album soon.
