The guys in Plain White T’s have learned a bit about life since “Hey There Delilah” and that’s no more evident than in the new video for the infectious single, “Natural Disaster”. No longer is the band wallowing after long gone college sweethearts; this time they’re the ones with the upper hand as they swagger into the club and can have their pick of any girl who crosses their path. Is Delilah is the one who’s jealous now?

Metallica have just premiered the video for their single “The Day That Never Comes” on their MySpace page. The epic clip was directed by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg and filmed this past July in southern California. On working with the acclaimed filmmaker, Hetfield explained to MTV.com, “That’s the beauty, I think, of writing vague but powerful lyrics — that someone like a movie director can interpret it in his own way and obviously, someone creative is able to take the metaphors and apply them to whatever he needs in his own life.”
The band have also just unveiled another song from their upcoming album Death Magnetic. The hard-charging track, “Cyanide” is now available for sale on iTunes.
The seed was planted when Alkaline Trio covered Tegan and Sara’s “Wake Up Exhausted” and released it as a b-side on their “Help Me” 7-inch single. Now you can see the Trio perform that song with Tegan Quin as part of their set at Spinner’s Interface. The set list also included songs from Alkaline Trio’s new album Agony & Irony: “Help Me”, “Calling All Skeletons,” and “Do You Wanna Know”.
From Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio: “Hi all! We had a blast with Tegan. We are HUGE fans and it was not only fun but a real honor for us to play with her.”
New Kids On The Block’s new track, “Single,” featuring Ne-Yo is available now on iTunes as is the pre-order for The Block which hits stores September 2nd and features the mellow jam “Summertime” as well as collaborations with some of the biggest names in pop music. In addition to “Single” with R&B superstar Ne-Yo, other collaborations include “Grown Man” (with The Pussycat Dolls and uber-producer Teddy Riley), “Put It on My Tab” (with the ubiquitous Akon), “Big Girl Now” (with NY dance-pop diva Lady GaGa) and the much-buzzed about “Full Service” (with fellow supergroup New Edition).
NKOTB will support The Block with a sold-out tour that started on September 18th in Toronto and continues through the end of November. NKOTB are also gearing up for an exclusive 90-minute live event, “New Kids on the Block: A Behind The Music Special Event” premiering on VH1. In a first-of-its-kind production, the special will celebrate the history of the New Kids On The Block while also documenting what inspired their 2008 reunion in their own words. Interspersed throughout the special will be live reports from Boston, counting down until VH1 airs a live broadcast of the first three songs from the world renowned group’s sold out concert at the TD Banknorth Garden in their hometown of Boston, Massachusetts.
