Sometimes when you get too big, you start to forget about the little people. MySpace has been known to put themselves out as friends to independent music labels. They even go as far as pointing out that they’re responsible for bringing into the mainstream artists like the Arctic Monkeys, who are on an indie label. However, as of recently, things have changed. The site has now launched a new music service that has several indie record labels fuming as they think the site has sold out. The CEO of Merlin, an international licensing group representing over 12,000 indie labels says that MySpace “just seems to be a massive disconnect within that organization between the reality of what they are building and what they think they have built.” Reports show that “MySpace Music is a joint venture between the News Corp.-owned social network and the Big Four labels. MySpace has given its partners an equity stake in the new service, but not to Merlin and other independent labels.” I guess it’s all about the money.

Josh Groban sang a medley of classic TV tunes from the past 40 years at the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards which was held at the Nokia Theatre late last month in Los Angeles. The 27-year old international classical-pop singer performed tunes from ‘The Golden Girls’, ‘Cops’, ‘The Jeffersons’, and even ‘South Park’. Say what? Before the crazy performance, Josh said “Nothing I’m singing I’ve ever sung before, except for ‘South Park’ with friends. There’s a lot of stuff that allows me to just be me, then there’s a lot of stuff that allows me to let my multiple personalities to go play for a bit.”

Sources are saying that Christina Aguilera will be selling her new album ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade of Hits’ exclusively at Target and Target.com on November 11. Pre-orders of the record began selling on September 30 at Target.com. As a special bonus to Target buyers, pre-orders of the CD were also couple with a free download of the singer’s new single ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better’. The album includes ten of her most popular hits as well as two new singles including ‘Dynamite’. The singer has also re-recorded two classic songs, ‘Genie in a Bottle’ and ‘Beautiful’ for the album. Christina released a statement regarding the album saying “I can’t believe it’s been over 10 years since my first album and it was really exciting to put all of my favorite songs in one collection for my fans. Target is really behind music and will be a great home for my new album!”

In a move that was sure to make a lot of new and returning fans happy, reports are saying that New Kids on the Block’s Donnie Wahlberg has declared his relationship status in a very clear way. At one of their concerts, the band member who was most recently linked to the skanky Aubrey O’Day said that he’d like to address a couple of rumors. He then put on a black cap that read in bold white letters SINGLE. I guess that means that his divorce is finally official and that Aubrey is also off his jock. There’s another eligible bachelor for people to start fantasizing about.

Naughty boy George Michael was recently busted for drug possession in London. After getting out on a lucky break, the drug-toting singer released a statement for all of his fans. He said “I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.” Multiple arrests are far from boring, George. Just don’t make it as repetitive as Amy Winehouse does. But I am hoping that he gets his act together. The UK has far too many crack heads around for them to have another one added to the list.
