Introducing Hana Pestle

Posted in Music Video, YouTube by Amanda @ Nov 24, 2008

Meet Hana Pestle — an eighteen year old singer/songwriter that has come a long way from her hometown of Billings, Montana. Hana moved to Los Angeles about a year ago to work on her debut album with Ben Moody, co-founder of Evanescence, who has also produced records for Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne. On top of the ten month recording process, Hana spent most of this year touring with an opening slot on the Blues Traveler, Live, Collective Soul Tour. She has since toured with the likes of Joshua Radin and Jon McLaughlin and is currently on the road with pop/pock band Ingram Hill.

The versatility of Hana’s vocals stands out on her current E.P with the intense single “These Two Hands” and a cover of Leonard Cohen’s classic “Hallelujah.” Hana will be able to tell more of her story on her full-length release due out next year.

Hana may be far away from home in a city she calls “much different yet wonderful,” but she explains, “I’m home wherever my guitar is.” Citing influences that range from Radiohead and Sarah McLachlan to Incubus, Feist and Jack Johnson, it is clear that Hana isn’t bound to any one genre.

AMY WINEHOUSE: SINGER/SONGWRITER/DIVORCEE

Posted in Amy Winehouse by Amanda @ Nov 24, 2008

Amy Winehouse, who looks much worse for every day she survives, has revealed to News of the World that her marriage to Blake-Fielder Civil is over.
AWWW NO MORE BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE?
According to NOTW, Blake (incarcerated) is leaving her for German model Sophie Schandorff.
I always believed Blake had a sick taste in women. I’m so glad he proved me wrong.
The ¼ singer ¾ druggie confessed that their marriage is “over” and that “there’s no way back for us now.”
She also tells them that their marriage “was never going to last.”
And most important of all? We were only together for SEX. I fancied him like mad, like no one else I’ve ever known. But it’s not enough, is it?”
A close ‘friend’ of Amy’s revealed that their sex life was insanely excessive as their rampant drug use.
She says:
“They were into threesomes. It was Blake’s idea but Amy said she’d been with women before so it wasn’t a problem. She said she’s had a string of female lovers. Whenever Blake said he wanted three-in-a-bed Amy would fix it.”
“They thought they were on this sexual journey together. And the pair of them were into some real kinky stuff, not just the usual bondage and sex games but really gross stuff you couldn’t mention in a newspaper. They were bad for each other, each pushing the other to excess, whether drugs or sex. Plus he sponged off her. And she’s awake to that now.”
One question: WHO THE HELL WOULD WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH HER NOW? PETE DOHERTY?

Beyonce and Jay-Z tops list of Hollywood’s Top-Earning Couples

Posted in Beyonce, Jay-Z by Amanda @ Nov 24, 2008

After getting all the buzz for their hush-hush marriage early this year, power couple Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z is the talk of the town once again after they topped Forbes’ list of top-earning Hollywood couples, thanks to a combined income of $110 million in 2007. The combined income of the couple is however estimated at $160 million from June 2007 to 2008.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are both popular figures in the American music industry albeit in different categories—Jay-Z reigns in the world of hip hop while Beyonce reigns in the R&B and Bootylicious category. However, there is not arguing that the couple reign supreme when it comes to high-paying endorsements.

Next in the list is power couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith with $57 million worth of combined earnings although majority of that came from Smith’s movie hits like Hancock, The Pursuit of Happiness and I Am Legend. Victoria and David Beckham is at number three with a combined income of $39 million.

The list also includes Nicole Kidman and country singer Keith Urban, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as well as Eva Longoria of “Desperate Housewives” and Tony Parker.

Enrique Iglesias’ death ceremony

Do not panic! Nothing happened to him, he just came a little close to it and found out that he would probably like to die drunk when the time truly comes. After the plane he was traveling in had to make an emergency landing, Enrique got a little nervous and had a few drinks: “I had a few shots of vodka and I was fine. Die drunk, right? I’m a bit of a panic flayer. I fly myself, but I definitely panicked for a few minutes.” Apparently the singer learned how to fly just to get over his fear of flying… he most likely found out that alcohol works much, much better. Plus, it might even get fun after one point.
