Lady Gaga Goes Diplomatic

There’s been a lot of talk about how Christina Aguilera has been ripping off of Lady Gaga’s visual and musical style. In several interviews, Christina has made disses on Lady Gaga so it should be right that she fire back. However, Lady Gaga has gone the diplomatic route in response to Christina’s digs. When asked to comment about the digs, Lady Gaga said “I don’t take offense to it. I’m inspired by androgyny and David Bowie and Grace Jones.” She was also asked to comment on Christina’s MTV VMAs performance which people say stole way too much from Gaga. She said “The performance bared a resemblance. I don’t have a “look”. I dress like this all the time. I have no enemies.” Christina better take some notes.

  8. This has got to be a joke. Is there really a debate who is a better singer? Lady Gaga or Christina? Christina wins by a HUGE margin. Does Lady Gaga even have a voice? sounds fake to me. Pokerface was such a dumb song. If she comes out with a song that actually shows she has some talent then we can discuss this.

    I watch music TV, music awards, and listen to a huge variety of music every day. I never heard of Lady Gaga until early this year (2009).

  10. the lady gaga thing has already been done by CHER poeple, the whole lets go o nstage in not much has been around forever. and lady ggaga’s fashion is just ripping off the 80’s . which btw i think is disgusting. she hasnt got style. she is just another tv music slut to be honest. dont getme wrong her songs can be catchy and i dont mind them, but you cant even put lady gaga and xtina in the same catergory. xtina has been doing this way longer and is the actual unique one. lady gaga is just a nother singer who trys to be “different” but is just copying past fashions which are hideous.

  21. lol, its funny how she says she doesn’t rip off lady gaga but then bashes her to top it off. Christina did not copy her style plain n simple. Lady gaga is more retro disco glam. christina went through all these transformations throughout her career and just so happens gaga was coming to be know around the time christina did her performance. Gaga was more mature to just brush it off and not feed flames to the fire, christina shouldn’t have came out swinging at gaga if she herself felt she didnt copy gaga. whatever, its only entertainment people. they are both talented artists and everyone will have an oppinon on the subject, but lets not be childish. I like gagas music, i like christinas music. there is enough room in the industry for the two of them. otherwise, if they couldnt perform or sing, how else would they be marketing platinum albums and number one songs?

  23. Wow, I’m saddened by Christina. I can’t believe she’d go as low as insults on another artist. I’m impressed that GaGa isn’t turning this into a Hillary Duff/Lindsay Lohan disaster. I can’t believe Christina! God, she’s married with a baby! Maturity issues much…

    To get into the argument of who’s better and who’s skankier, I’d like everyone to please go back a few years and look at Christina’s old style. It was horrendous. And she was a blossoming artist at the time. Now, she’s figured herself out, found herself as a person, and guess what? She looks awesome. GaGa’s style is very similar to Christina’s in one way – it stands out. But at least GaGa can match colors and hair and pieces together. Christina sort of failed at that at first.

    As for musical talent, Christina wins hands down when it comes to being a real “artist”. I was using the term loosing above, but GaGa is not an artist. She’s a singer. GaGa might morph slowly into an artist, like Christina did.

    I mean, look back. When Christina came out with Dirrty everyone was like WHOOAAA holy shit! What a whore! She’s in her 20s and TALKING ABOUT SEX OH GOD! And now GaGa’s doing the same thing like, 10 years later, and for some reason everyone’s calling her a whore! I mean, christ, we all LOVE Christina now, but GaGa… MAN that chick is a SKANK or something! What is this? Get over it. GaGa’s just beginning.

    And besides, her songs a catchy!!! WHO CARES if there is quality musical material in her first album? If her first album can have this many hits – Lovegame, Pokerface, Just Dance, Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) – just IMAGINE what her next one will be! People have got to give GaGa some freaking wiggle room, jeez.
