You Thought So!

The musician and his partner Rick Nowels recently wrote a song called “Thank You” that included the lyrics: “I thank God for grace and mercy, and that you became my wife” which apparently impressed his wife Nicole Kidman very much. Keith Urban said the following about his new song: “Rick’s music pulled this story out of me, which became quite a confessional – much more intimate than I might have written had I intended to write about her. It was very instinctual and very much from the heart. We did a quick recording of it, and I took it home and played it for her that night. I think she was very touched.” Quite amazing that Keith Urban managed to actually impress Nicole Kidman with his true feelings. It’s not like artists usually express their feelings in their work… because, let’s face it, it’s not like somebody’s feelings sell to well, do they.

Jennifer Lopez was recently spotted shopping at Shibuya’s Marui City in Tokyo Japan this past Sunday. The 39-year old Bronx-born beauty recently spoke about adding to her family. She said “Marc is like, ‘What are we waiting for?’ ‘Let me work just a little bit first, Let me get a couple things out there… one song, one movie, something!’ I, like, need to recuperate. I definitely want to have more (kids) though. I don’t know if it’s in the cards for us, but I would like to!” Well, she better hurry and crank those movies and songs out because she’s not getting any younger. Women have been known to have more trouble getting pregnant once they reach their late 30s. But they can always do in vitro.

Music magazine Blender is officially closing its doors and laying off 30 people. The current April issue with original American Idol Kelly Clarkson will reportedly be its last. The decision was told to staff last week. Alpha Media Group’s last remaining magazine is Maxim which will have its editorial staff integrated for its print and digital employees. CEO Stephen Duggan commented “Since 2001, Blender has provided unmatched music coverage and entertainment news in its unique voice to a profoundly dedicated audience of music enthusiasts. We are particularly grateful to the sales team and to the tremendously talented editorial staff for their hard work and commitment to Blender.”

The famous star will apparently have new lodgings in an eight million dollar house in New Jersey which she will be renting for thirty thousand dollars a month. A source had this to say about Britney Spears’ new residence: “Britney wanted a home away from home while she was on tour, especially for the boys – something close to Manhattan. They talked about Long Island, but she wanted something closer that could feel like home for Sean and Jayden.” Yeah, right, like those two kids will feel at home in a strange and large house while Britney Spears is off singing every night. Of course, this is probably just as far as Britney Spears’ own concept of home goes, not a place where you can be with your family, but a big house that’s probably haunted too.

Natasha Bedingfield has gotten married. If you don’t know who she is, Natasha is the UK singer most famously known in the US for being the voice behind the theme song of ‘The Hills’. Natasha has tied the knot with businessman Matthew Robinson in a ceremony held in Malibu, California this past weekend. There were 150 guests who were able to witness Natasha walk down the aisle in a Vera Wang dress beside the chateau at the Church Estates Vineyards. Congratulations to the happy couple! I hope they enjoy the honeymoon. I wonder if Natasha will be popping out any babies soon.

Single File rock, and their new website is here to prove just that! The brand new site, SingleFileRock.com, was launched along with news that the band is set to rock the stage with Alkaline Trio and Saves The Day for a string of dates in late April and the early days of May leading into the famed Bamboozle fest on May 3rd.

The rock continues on for Single File as they release Common Struggles, their major label debut, on April 7th. The album, produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, The All-American Rejects, Less Than Jake) features the quirky pop-rock track “Mannequin Loveseat” as well as the just released album single “Girlfriends.” The new single is sure to be a hit as it channels the likes of Weezer, Plain White T’s and all that’s right with modern pop-rock.

Eddie Cibrian, LeAnn Rimes’ alleged other man, has released an official statement to Access Hollywood dismissing rumors about him and the country singer. His statement reads “Other than being friends and two actors who were romantically intertwined in a movie-for-television we filmed last fall, there is no truth to the reporting initiated by US Magazine. It is a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship.” However, a friend of LeAnn’s told People magazine that “There are some feelings there but it’s too early to tell if it’s going to develop and if she’s done with her marriage… The situation that she’s grappling with right now is not the cause for her marriage troubles. There have been issues brewing for months prior to meeting Eddie on set.”

The “Fast and Furious” star has recently admitted a few things to his likes regarding women and cars. Here’s what Paul Walker had to say: “Do I prefer fast cars or fast women? Well I’ve had a lot of both. But I’m a good boy now so I’d have to say fast cars.” How can Paul Walker be a good boy and like fast cars at the same time? If he’s so disciplined as he claims to be, what’s he going to do with a fast car anyway? He has to abide by traffic regulations. Fast women on the other had… well, now those might be better suited even for someone of Paul Walker’s moral integrity: easy in, easy out, they say.

On American Idol’s elimination show, Carrie Underwood and this week’s mentor Randy Travis proved with their performance of ‘I Told You So’ that sometimes, a DJ mash up can make something amazing. Jesse Tack, an evening radio DJ for WUBE in Cincinnati, orchestrated the mash up of Carrie’s cover of the Randy Travis classic. The duet form of the song was received with great critical acclaim and inspired the two signers to actually head into the studio to record an official version. They performed the duet live for the first time on the show. I wonder if the radio DJ got any credit for thinking it up in the first place.

Pussycat Dolls have just premiered the video for their version of A R Rahman’s Oscar winning “Jai Ho!” “It was such a great honor to be able to re-write my own version of the lyrics,” said Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger who worked with producer Ron Fair on the new interpretation of the track. The Dolls shot the video for “Jai Ho – You Are My Destiny” at an abandoned train station museum in snowy Vienna with director Thomas Kloss – Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus.

Check out Demi Lovato’s just released video for “Don’t Forget. “ The video for the heartfelt ballad was shot at Griffith Park in Los Angeles, CA and features Demi rocking out in the rain. “Don’t Forget” is the title track off of Demi’s debut album and will appear on her new Deluxe Edition due out on March 31st along with two brand new songs, behind the scenes content and making of the video footage. The American Idol contestant who chose Martina McBride’s “Wild Angels” for his performance was criticized by Paula Abdul for staying behind his piano. Simon Cowell however had a comeback for that criticism: “Elton John used to sit behind a piano, nothing wrong with that.” However he did criticize Scott MacIntyre for not making the best song choices. It looks like daddy Cowell’s patience is running a bit thin. But, truth be told, none of the judges were very accepting of Scott MacIntyre’s rendition… especially the vocal part. Still, the man brought his piano on stage too… that’s got to count for something. It’s not just voiced melodrama… it’s voiced melodrama with a piano in the background!

The singer is reportedly about to spend three million dollars to make herself a studio at home so that she can record her new material in peace. A source said this about Amy Winehouse’s new creational facility: “She doesn’t want to have to go to a public studio to record her new album, where she’ll get photographed all the time, so she’s looking into getting a set-up at home. She recorded loads of tracks while in Camden. She wanted a similar set-up.” Three million dollars? What is Amy Winehouse going to put in that studio, a fully paid orchestra? Or better still: a full robot orchestra? I never knew Amy Winehouse was such an accomplished musician that she required that much equipment.

A scientist by the name of Virgil Griffith recently created a study called “Music that makes you dumb” and Beyonce’s music came second to bottom in that study. Virgil Griffith said this about his study: “I’ve listened to artists and afterward thought to myself, ‘Wow… loving this rubbish says a lot about someone and how much they’ve got going on in their head.’ Could one’s musical tastes say something about intelligence? How about SAT scores? Well, like any good scientist, I decided to see how well my personal experience matches reality.” Of course, it’s not Beyonce’s fault that her music doesn’t stimulate intelligence. I mean, she does all that an artist can do to elevate the human being above itself… or was it to make a lot of money?

In a bid to save water for the world Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale bathe together. The couple have two lovely kids Kingston who is 6 years of age and Zuma aged 6 months old. Gavin Rossdale insists that it’s not all about having fun bathing naked together but rather it is also a great way to help save water.

This is what Gavin has to say about the couple’s water saving adventures, “All families should bathe together. It’s the least they could do!”

You know you could be thinking that they are revealing their sex secrets here and all of that stuff and actually showing off that saving water is the main agenda behind bathing together but what it also shows that they are having a cool time soaking in the water.

Mind you water conversationalist will tell you that instead of the shower or bathtub use water through buckets. But again as long as they can have fun in the water they won’t be complaining one bit.

Another of the four American Idol wild cards impressed with her dancing more than anything else. Megan Joy Corkrey’s dance routine supposedly took the eye of all of the judges and the contestant only commented this on it: “When I start singing, I just flop around, and it just happens. I don’t know why!” Flopping around? Megan Joy Corkrey’s description of her dance routine gets me thinking of the Finnish Air Guitar Championship where the “air guitarists” just flop around the stage… supposedly playing air guitar. Well, they say the show must go on… no matter how ridiculous the circumstances.

With her mom jeans safely tucked away somewhere deep in the recesses of her closet, Jessica Simpson put on her best Pearl Jam flannel, Madonna bustier and Daisy Dukes at the very prestigious Florida Strawberry Festival last weekend. Her body is almost back to her ‘Dukes of Hazard’ days but she was way too thin in that one anyway. Jess is rocking that body now! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about her performance. Seriously, when is she going to learn to just give it up already? I don’t even get how she landed the opening gig for Rascal Flatts.
