Country singer Trisha Yearwood has said that critics and people and even fans who think that she is not a good artist because she cannot write own songs should look at the numerous other examples who never composed their own songs yet are listed as greats. She gave Patsy Cline as one of the prime examples.
Trisha admitted that she tried hard to be a creative songwriter but after failing at the job she thought of concentrating on her real skill – singing. Trisha also said people should not be concerned because the song writing part is in good hands.
She says, “I’ve been criticized before. (People say), ‘She’s not a real artist because she doesn’t write her own songs.’ When you get through listening to Patsy Cline singing I Fall to Pieces, you (don’t) think if she’d only written it, you know it wouldn’t had so much more emotion.”
Well Trisha the one thing common with all critics is that they look for every drawback they can find in an artist be it a singer, actor, lyricist or director and then they blow the matter so much so as to suggest they have the right to judge everything you do.
