Carrie Underwood at 2009 ACMs

Carrie Underwood won the night’s top honors at the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards which was held at the MGM Grand on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 26-year old American Idol champ picked up Top Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year, which was a fan-voted category this year, beating out Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and George Strait. During her acceptance speech, Carrie gave a shout out to her Ottawa Senators hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher saying “Mike baby, I wish you were here.” During the ceremony, Carrie also performed her hit song ‘I Told You So’.
