The country singer recently admitted that she wishes to get on better terms with her mother as Mother’s Day is coming up and Gretchen Wilson has not spoken with her mother for a few years now. She said the following about her new master plan: “As far as I know things are going a lot better with her life than they were previously, and so I’m thinking that this Mother’s Day, we might reconnect.” Just wonderful! Gretchen Wilson is apparently planning to phone her mother, but why not get a gift too? After all, what would the point of Mother’s Day be if commercialism wasn’t at least a bit stimulated.

Green Day will release 21st Century Breakdown, the long awaited follow-up to American Idiot, on Friday May 15th. The album, produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, AFI, Smashing Pumpkins), features the single “Know Your Enemy.” While fans can buy the album in-stores on the 15th, those eager to hear the new record can do so now on Rhapsody.com where the album is streaming in its entirety.
