The singer who participated on Britain’s Got Talent, another one of Simon Cowell’s personal little star factories, ended up on second place at the show’s finale. First place got nabbed by the dance group “Diversity” and Susan Boyle said the following about getting second place: “The best people won. They’re very entertaining. Lads, I wish you all the best.” Well, no biggy, Susan Boyle will probably have the success such “manufacturing” agencies as these reality shows can offer. After all, many an American Idol contestants never made it to the finals and they turned out to be sell-outs either way… go figure.
The singer recently stated that she believes the nuns who educated her at New York’s Convent of the Sacred Hearts Catholic School would approve of her raunchy ways of today. Lady GaGa said: “I haven’t had any feedback from the nuns. But it’s interesting because I think everyone assumes that because I went to such a religious school perhaps they don’t appreciate what I’m doing now. But it is quite the opposite. I got a really solid education, in particular how to analyse art, how to make art. So if anything, my teachers are sort of nodding their heads and saying, ‘She did a good job of using her artistic abilities to really create a new kind of pop.’ ” Right, and when we say “the nuns” we refer to a bunch of women who have had to deal with abstinece for the better part of their lives. Of course they approve of Lady GaGa’s style… after all, she herself is a product of the same type of education, only she got the opportunity to unleash it upon the world. And the “new kind of pop” thing? Looks like Lady GaGa might be developing what we could safely call “the Kanye syndrome” these days.
The soul singer recently admitted that she’s an old fashioned romantic and pre-nups would never be the thing for her if she ever got married. Beverly Knight said: “I’m an old soppy romantic, and I’m not really a pre-nup kind of person, however, I’m sure everybody around me would be like, ‘Pre-nup! Do it! Sign one.’ But it’s not really me.” That’s a very commendable view on Beverly Knight’s behalf… but sadly, highly impractical in today’s world. But no need to worry, most likely the institution of marriage will itself eventually turn into a contract soon enough, it’s just a matter of time.
John Rich and Jared Ashley can’t settle their difference and have to have the cops involved. The member of country singing group Big & Rich turned himself in to the Metro Davidson County Criminal Justice Center in Nashville, Tennessee last week to face misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment stemming from an alleged altercation between John and Jared. Both have filed civil lawsuits against each other, Jared sued for the alleged assault and John sued back for defamation. In a statement released by his lawyers, the singer claims that he can’t settle with Jared and that he’d rather defend himself “through the legal process to the fullest extent of the law. I trust that the truth will come out through the process of our American justice system and that I will be completely exonerated at the end of the day.”
