What is it with young singers and wanting to have kids already? First, there was Lily Allen. Now, there’s Katherine McPhee. On the set of the American Idol alum’s new music video ‘Had it All’, the singer was asked if she was ready to have kids with husband Nick Cokas. Katherine responded with “It’s sort of hard to plan… I really want to live out the record. Plus, I really like kids, but when they start crying it really makes me nervous. I don’t think I’m quite there yet.” At the very least, Kat isn’t a lush like Lily Allen.

According to The Sun, Tori Amos believes that Lady Gaga’s popularity is fleeting and she doesn’t see the pop star playing on the same bill as veteran rocker Neil Young in twenty years. Tori told the paper “”[GaGa] She’s what I call a meteor – singers who entertain people for a while. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that. But then there are people like Neil Young who show up at Glastonbury 40 years into their career. And that’s a very different kind of artist.” Well, a lot of people said the same things about Madonna when she first started but look at where the Queen of Pop is now.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin hates people who complain about their fame and admitted he is grateful for his stardom.

Chris, 32, is the lead singer in British band Coldplay and said that he doesn’t like it when people moan about fame.

Chris said: “I hate people who complain about being famous. I’ve got my dream life at the moment. I’m not going to complain, it’s ridiculous.”

The singer also said he believes you should never count on stardom.

He said: “You can never say you’re big – I don’t think you can ever take anything like that for granted. That’s when you get sh** automatically.”

The Los Angeles County Coroner has reportedly ruled Michael Jackson’s death as a homicide. The autopsy of the King of Pop found lethal levels of the anaesthetic Propofol in his body, which was administered just hours before the singer died in an LA mansion on June 25. A rep for the Jackson family has issued a statement regarding the matter saying “The Jackson family has full confidence in the legal process, and commends the ongoing efforts of the L.A. County Coroner, the L.A. District Attorney and the L.A. Police Department. The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served.”

Paula Abdul recently announced on her Twitter that she will be hosting VH1’s Divas Live come this September. Congratulations to her for nabbing a great gig. The former American Idol judge said “Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year’s “Vh1 Divas”!The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST.” Some of the big name performances slated for the special this year will be Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Adele and Miley Cyrus. Maybe they can get Paula to have an opening dance number for the show. So who’s excited to see Paula working again?

Chris Brown and his lawyer requested that his sentencing for the assault on Rihanna be pushed up from Thursday to Tuesday afternoon. That request came after the sentencing was already postponed earlier this month when the “judge learned that authorities in Virginia, where Brown wants to serve probation, hadn’t yet agreed to a probation plan.” At the sentencing, a judge has sentenced the R&B singer to five years probation and six months of physical labor. Chris was also told that he could be sent to state prison if he violated any of the terms of his sentence for the next five years.

Beyonce, Kanye West and Keri Hilson are all up for Mobo awards next month, the nominations reveal.

The ceremony will be held in Glasgow, Scotland on September 30, which is the first time that awards have been held out of London in 14 years.

X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and runners-up JLS are competing again in the Best Newcomer category with British rapper Chipmunk, leading the nominations with four nods.

Rapper Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady GaGa and Keri Hilson are all up against each other for the coveted Best International Act award.

Kanya King, the CEO and Founder of MOBO, said: “The fact that we are holding the awards in Glasgow this year is testament to the fact that MOBO Music is the sound of Britain as a whole.

“The reception from Scotland has been great and we cannot wait to put on our show up there.”

Jojo is speaking out about the legal drama currently surrounding her right now. The singer has taken to her official blog to discuss the matter and clear up any rumors floating around. She wrote “… As you may already know, my record company has been going through a major transition and unfortunately all of the artists on the label have been forced to sit on the sidelines and wait. I exhausted every option and exercised much patience before reaching my final decision to file a formal complaint with the court… unfortunately I have become a victim of industry politics that honestly have nothing to do with me personally or professionally. Because of this, I am willing to fight for what I love and ultimately for the chance to regain control of my livelihood and my life.”

Last Thursday, LeAnn Rimes was questioned by the Los Angeles Police Department after the singer was accused of a misdemeanor hit and run. Officials have revealed that an accident took place in Brentwood at 7:45PM that day. Officers then went to LeAnn’s home to question her involvement. She was said to be driving a 2009 Audi when she reportedly crashed into a 2006 BMW which was stopped in a left turn lane. Her publicist has made a statement regarding the investigation saying “There was a routine police investigation into this incident, and a police report was filed. We are confident that this matter will be resolved shortly and LeAnn will be cleared.”

Mariah Carey’s album ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ may have gotten pushed back twice already but that’s not stopping the curvaceous singer from coming out with a new fragrance. The diva’s new scent is called ‘Forever’ and she recently talked to People about it. Mariah said “Fragrance is so personal and ‘Forever’ captures that glamorous feeling that I want to share with my fans.” The scent contains notes of lotus blossom, tuberose, gardenia, exotic woods and white musk. Mariah also has a new movie called ‘Precious’, which was directed by Lee Daniels and is based on the novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire. Oprah Winfrey is actually an executive producer on the flick.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has hit out at fellow judge Piers Morgan and said she isn’t sure why he has a place on the panel.

Amanda, 38, is also an actress and has starred in hit British shows such as Wild At Heart and Cutting It.

She said she is more suited to her role on the panel because she has auditioned in front of a crowd like the contestants – unlike her fellow judges Piers, 44, and Simon Cowell, 49.

She said: “Obviously Simon is very qualified but I’m not sure what Piers Morgan is doing there.”

Amanda also said she would not be impressed if she was fired from the hit show, saying: “I’d have to very nicely wish the next person the best of luck.”

It’s going to be a battle of the divas on September 29th as four very different CDs will be available for purchase on that one specific date. Madonna’s latest collection of hits ‘Celebration’, Barbra Streisand’s classic ballad album ‘Love is the Answer’, Mariah Carey’s twice delayed ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ and Heidi Montag’s self-titled debut album will all be dropping on that date. Just looking at that list of names and you can already tell which ones are going to sell and which are going to flop. But first, let me rephrase what I said as battle of the divas. It’s battle of the divas and a wannabe. Take your pick.

After a two year hiatus from the music scene, Norah Jones will be gracing our ears and airwaves with more of her music and it’s being said that it’s going to be different than that jazz stuff that we’re used to when it comes to her. The singer has apparently spent the last 2 years writing and experimenting with new sounds, collaborating with the likes of Ryan Adams, Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, and Jesse Harris. Perhaps the biggest change is that Norah has ditched her piano in favor of the guitar for most of the tracks. The singer talked of the album saying “I knew I wanted to try some different things on this album. I’d been playing with the same musicians for a long time. We’re all still friendly and I hope we play together again, but it felt like a good time to work with new people and experiment with different sounds.” The album is due out in November.

UK rocker Amy Winehouse, 25, has sued her former mother-in-law for selling a love letter she penned for ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Bad boy Fielder-Civil was spending time in prison for assault when the steamy note was written. Winehouse alleges his mother, Georgette, sold the letter.

Winehouse in her legal action alleges copyright infringement and seeks £50,000 in damages.

A friend said: “Amy was furious the private letter was used to make money.”

Amy married Blake, 27, in 2007 and divorced in July this year. She was in recent days quoted saying that although they had split, he was “still her man”.

Fielder-Civil’s mother in the past blamed Winehouse for her son’s turning to drugs. The ill-fated pair spent most of their marriage apart due to his imprisonment.

A British doctor has claimed that Michael Jackson wanted her to be a surrogate mother for his fourth child.

Dr Susan Etok, a close friend of the singer, told US TV show Entertainment Tonight in an exclusive interview that the tragic singer badly wanted a baby girl – a sister for his daughter Paris.

“Loads of my friends were getting married and having kids…I was telling Michael about that,” said Etok, 32.

“He thought I’d be a really good mother, and I joked to him that I’d like to have the child now and find Mr Right later, and he said, ‘let’s do that’.”

Etok, who also claimed that Jackson offered her £500,000 to supply a range of dangerous drugs, said the suggestion caught her off guard and believes that ultimately, she would have backed out.

“I was stunned,” she said. “We looked at loads of different things, how it was going to work, the mechanics of it, and I kept on throwing things at him saying, ‘this is not going to work, I don’t want to live in America. I don’t want to give up any children’. He mentioned it nearly every time I spoke to him.”

Britney Spears’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib has pleaded not guilty to running over a man trying to serve him with a restraining order.

The former paparazzo is accused of driving into process server Ram Moskowitz, who was trying to give him the order telling him to stay away from Britney.

Moskowitz was forced to jump on the bonnet of Ghalib’s Mercedes to avoid being pinned against a dustbin van, but fell off and broke his wrist.

Ghalib was arraigned on Monday at the Van Nuys courthouse in Los Angeles for felony assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run and battery.

He is due back in court on September 29.

According to Fox News, Michael Jackson’s doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, will be facing manslaughter charges in the next two weeks. Authorities were waiting for one more search warrant, which is being assumed to be the one that was recently executed at an LA pharmacy last week, in order to gather more evidence against the suspicious doctor. Many are saying that the manslaughter charge seems to be too lenient as second degree murder sounded more appropriate to investigators. Unfortunately, authorities think that a jury would fail to convict on such a serious charge. Whatever will put the late singer’s killer in jail is good enough for me.

A bikini-clad Britney Spears shared her ideas on running the country as she presented the ‘Top Ten Ways the Country Would be Different if Britney Spears were President’ on the Late Show with David Letterman last Tuesday. Among the items that the singer presented include number 10: “I’d be the first president to wear eye shadow since Nixon”; number 9: “We would only invade fun places like Cabo”; and number 8: “Free pie for everybody.” The list also includes “Costume changes between press conferences” and “Three words: Vice President Diddy.” And number 1 on the list was “The media would pay attention to me and care about what I’m doing.”

In an interview with the LA Times, Paula Abdul’s manager David Sonenberg dished about what’s next for the former American Idol judge. And according to him, there’s no talk of American Idol. He said “She loves Idol. She feels she was a large part of the reason it is what it is. I can tell you her focus right now is speaking to all the other networks. The only one we haven’t talked to, because of recent events, is Fox. But perhaps we would be speaking to Fox about shows in the near future.” So for now, don’t hold your breath for Paula being back in American Idol soon.

Jennifer Lopez is scared of the dark, and makes sure husband Marc Anthony only turns off the lights in their bedroom after she has fallen asleep.

Lopez told InStyle magazine: “I like the quiet, but I don’t like the dark. We have everything on dimmers so I kind of trick myself into the darkness. Marc always turns off the lights after he comes to bed. I’m usually sleeping – or he waits till I fall asleep and then turns them off.”

Meanwhile, Lopez, 40, admits she has had to work at her marriage – and says she has been reading “how to” books for successful relationships.

She said: “I’m constantly trying to figure love out. It’s the never-ending question – what is the key to love? I’m old enough to know now that relationships take work. That it’s not an easy thing.”
