Lady Gaga is definitely proving herself to be a force to be reckoned with. The singer leads the pack with 9 VMA nominations tying only with Beyonce for most nods. Lady Gaga recently spoke about the nods saying “After years of hustle in New York City, where we made our art videos in bars, myself and the Haus of Gaga are honored to receive 9 nominations for the 2009 VMAs. We believe in the immensity and the promise of ’showbiz’ and will continue to give it mouth-to-mouth, till its vomiting return. All you need is a camcorder, a flashlight, and one truly GREAT idea. Thank you MTV for being our video flagship, and for supporting this bunch of inspired kids, who love to get wasted and make art, together.”

Chris Brown Fills in for Drake

Drake recently took a spill during one of his performances that caused him to further an injury to his knee. After he went down, his tour partner Lil Wayne needed somebody to do the rapper/singer’s part at a concert in Virginia Beach, and the rapper asked Chris Brown to do it. It was the R&B singer’s first live performance since copping a plea in his assault case. However, sources close to the situation says that Chris won’t be Drake’s full time replacement on the tour and that it was a one time only type of thing. It sucks for Chris because he either has to keep being second fiddle or not have a career at all.
