Two American Idol champions and one American Idol runner up performed several songs during Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series at New York City’s Rumsey Playfield last Friday. Adam Lambert performed his own rendition of Muse’s ‘Starlight’, David Cook performed his third single ‘Come Back to Me’ from his album, and Kris Allen performed an acoustic version of Kanye West’s ‘Heartless’. The three singers came back together on stage to perform a cover of ‘Little Lies’. I wish I could have been part of that audience. The three of them had really great performances. And if that translates very well on video, you can only imagine how they are live.

It looks like Neverland Ranch may have to move to Las Vegas. There are talks of turning Michael Jackson’s former home into an attraction in Sin City and the Jackson’s estate is actually considering the idea. According to a source “the idea is to take physically everything that’s not part of the dirt and reassemble it in Las Vegas.” Colony Capital, the investment firm that bought the property last year to save it from the auction block, is drafting business plans for the endeavor which would include a museum, theater, and potentially a burial spot for the late King of Pop. The move could cost several million dollars but would ultimately generate a huge profit if business projections go to plan.

MTV Leaving Times Square

Times Square will no longer be bombarded with tween fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrity as, at the end of this year, MTV will be leaving their New York headquarters that was once ground central for their live programming. MTV’s parent company, Viacom, could still make a bid on the studio location but the likelihood of that happening by the end of the year is pretty slim. I get the need for the change though as this past year marked the end of the show that made the location so popular – TRL. Without that program, there’s really not much sense in still having that space.
