The man behind the bullet necklace has defended his work after stars were criticised by airport security for owning the items.

The Bullets 4 Peace jewellery is worn by Justin Timberlake, The Jonas Brothers, Jessica Biel and Audrina Patridge. The pieces, which are intended to promote world peace, are created from bullet casings and can include diamond-studded designs worth $10,000.

But rapper Snoop Dogg had his blinged-out ammo confiscated at Beirut International Airport as he headed back to America after a concert last week.

Gloria Estefan only got to keep hers after agreeing to let a pilot store it in the cockpit during a flight from London to Italy.

Designer Rafi Anteby said: “We live in a very sensitive time and space and I feel a strong need to make a statement that not only raises awareness, but also gives back to community.”

Things are heating up for Russell Brand and Katy Perry.

Brand, the wild and woolly lothario, is getting set to meet Perry’s folks, who are evangelical Christians.

Perry is said to be desperate for Brand to meet her parents, pastors Keith and Mary Hudson.

A source said: “Katy is as besotted with Russell as he is with her. However, her parents are extraordinarily strict Christians. Katy is sure that, after a bit of getting used to him, they would approve of Russell, but she wants to get that initial meeting out of the way as early as she can.”

The Hudsons run an evangelical ministry in Temecula, south of LA, and can officiate a wedding. The source continued: “Keith and Mary are devoted to the church and hold the institution of marriage as a central core of their beliefs. They are genuinely happy for their daughter, but want to give Russell the once-over to check that he is, in fact, as suitable as Katy claims.”

Taylor Swift Scopes Out Colleges

Is country singing cutie Taylor Swift heading to Notre Dame for college? College students went on a frenzy when they spotted the singer on campus last week with her younger brother. Taylor did mention that she was checking out colleges but she was pretty mum on which ones. She wrote on her Twitter account “Looking at colleges with my brother.” I wonder if she will update her account and say what she thought of the campus. I’m also wondering whether she’s checking them out for herself or if she’s just helping her brother decide where to go. I totally see her going to college one of these days though.

Country singer Carrie Underwood recently visited the Grand Ole Opry House to flip a switch to turn the backdrop pink to symbolize the fight against breast cancer in Nashville, Tennessee. The 26-year old Aemrican Idol alum told CMT “There are a lot of people out there who have been fighters and who have made it through cancer, but there are a lot of us who don’t want to have to go through that fight. Of course, nobody wants to, but we want to make sure that doesn’t happen, so we’re honoring the people who have been through it and who have made it through it. We’re supporting them, we’re raising awareness and we’re hoping to stop it in its tracks.”

Richard Lapointe, the guy who claims to have placed the highest bid on 170 items in Michael Jackson’s defunct auction, is suing the late singer’s estate. Julien’s Auction House, who Lapointe is also suing, had planned a massive auction of the King of Pop’s possessions but it was cancelled due to Michael and the company’s continual disagreements. The lawsuit claims that the plaintiff was the only bidder on 82 items and “may have been the highest bidder on not less than 88 additional items.” Apart from asking for $5 million for the letdown, Lapointe also claims that he is entitled to millions of dollars because it’s the “true market value of the items.”
