It is being reported that the Spice Girls will be performing at the opening for the 2012 Olympics in London. The band’s manager, Simon Fuller, says that the quintet of Posh, Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby could possibly schedule their reunion/final tour to coincide with the games. He said “They stand for so much in British music history and I can’t think of a better time for them to get back together for another performance. The demand for them as a band is as strong as ever.” He also believes that the girls will be ready to retire the Spice Girls personalities come the 2012 games as the group “will not want to be performing hits like Wannabe in their 40’s.”

There have been rumors of solo records from different members of the ‘Glee’ cast including Lea Michele. Now, it has been confirmed that Matthew Morrison will be doing one of his own. The actor describes his sound as a mix of Justin Timberlake and Michael Buble, explaining “Right now, I’ve almost finalized a record deal and am going to be working on an album. It’s going to be different…It’s going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats. I want to be like the next Gene Kelly. I want to kind of do it all. I want to have a career in movies, television, music and Broadway – but have them all be separate, their own entities.”

Taylor Swift rocked out for the new commercial for the ‘Band Hero’ video game recently. The 19-year old country singer shared the stage with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and Blink 182’s Travis Barker. The shoot was directed by Brett Ratner and shows the ‘Risky Business’ inspired slide into the living room by the musicians, much like the other ‘Guitar Hero’ commercials. Taylor sang ‘Love Story’ and later showed off her rock and roll side in the commercial. And on a cute note, People said that she taught Travis’ kids how to play the video game during breaks from the shoot.
