New Song from Adam Lambert – Outlaws of Love

Adam Lambert surprised fans at the “Ste-Agathe en Feux Festival” by performing a brand new track called “Outlaws of Love” in Quebec, Canada this past Friday. The American Idol alum confirmed that the powerful ballad will appear on his upcoming second album, which is reportedly set for release later this year. The glam rock singer said “As you probably know, I have been working for the past couple of months. This is a song that will be on the new album… All of the things I’ve been talking about over the past year, all of it boils down to acceptance and this is a song that I wrote about how it feels, that no matter where you go or where you turn, sometimes it feels like you’re just running from the law.”

Adam Lambert believes in pop

He is probably the only one or either way, the member of a select few. When asked recently if his “Aftermath” album had anything to do with him coming out openly about being gay, Adam Lambert replied the following: “Pop is so commercial that when there’s a cause that you can support in an honest manner and when you can influence people to make their life better, I don’t think you should pass up the opportunity. It’s very exciting to be able to do something meaningful, beneficial. Even if it’s only a simple pop song, there’s an intent behind it, which is to help people to better accept who they are.” Unfortunately, simply because it is so commercial limits pop’s credibility very much. But if Adam Lambert still believes in it, maybe not all is lost after all.

Adam Lambert Talks Grammy Nod

Adam Lambert is really excited about getting nominated for a Grammy and the glam rock singer has a lot to say about it. The American Idol alum has been nominated for best male pop vocal performance for his song “Whataya Want from Me” from his 2009 debut album. Upon learning about the nod, Adam shared “I was awoken by my manager in the morning while in Paris. Much more effective than my usual cup of coffee to wake me up. I was so excited! After our call, I saw that a bunch of friends and family had texted and written emails… In addition to the writers and producers of the track, I hope that at this point, after all the hard work I’ve done over the past year, the nomination will give me credibility as a true vocalist in the industry, and perhaps help fade some of the stigma that comes from rising to fame on a competition show.” Congratulations Adam!

New Music from Pink – Heartbreak Down – New Song

Pink will release her first greatest hits compilation soon. The 21-song set (depending on where you buy it) includes three brand new tracks from the pop rock singer – ‘Raise Your Glass’, ‘F—ing Perfect’ and ‘Heartbreak Down’. The last one hit the internet just a few days ago. The music and lyrics are awesome and so Pink. She also adds ‘Whataya Want from Me’, a song that Pink wrote that was made popular by Adam Lambert, to her compilation CD. The song was actually recorded in 2008 but didn’t make the final cut to Pink’s album ‘Funhouse’. She often performed it on tour but only now has the studio version come out. Enjoy!

Allison Iraheta Gets Dropped

Another American Idol runner up has been dropped by their label as season 8′s fourth place finisher Allison Iraheta has supposedly left Jive Records. A spokesperson reveals “Allison Iraheta has parted ways with Jive Records, however she remains signed to 19 Recordings. Allison is currently on the road in the U.S. opening for Adam Lambert on the Glam Nation Tour.” Oh well. I can’t say that I’m surprised. Usually, it’s really just the top 2 who get successful careers. Unless of course you count Jennifer Hudson but I just think she’s in a league of her own that no other American Idol contestant can ever hope for.

What other reason would he have to get the new hairstyle he got? It would appear that Adam Lambert decided to shave his head, but he probably realized that it would be a lot more suited to his purposes if he stopped halfway into the process. And so Adam Lambert ended up with a half-shaved head that he wasn’t none too shy to share on twitter. Oh, what madness has Rihanna unleashed upon the world with her crazy hair ideas? But the damage is done now, so hopefully Adam Lambert will get the attention he sacrificed half of his hair for.

Adam Lambert was recently asked what he does with the panties that have been thrown at him on stage during a concert. The 28-year old glam rock singer told ET Canada “Well, that’s an interesting question. I mean, what do you do with the panties? You don’t know where they’ve been. There’s really no place in my suitcase for spare panties so I tend to kind of acknowledge them and throw them back. I think it’s more about the act of throwing them then it is about the actual panties. It’s the gesture.” What would he do with other people’s dirty underwear anyway?

Adam Lambert to Mentor on American Idol

It has been confirmed that Adam Lambert will be returning to American Idol as a music mentor next week. I have to ask – why? I don’t mean to belittle him but there are loads more AI alums that are more successful than he is like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, heck, even Clay Aiken! Oh well, it’s their crappy show. Producers from the reality TV talent show confirm the participation of last season’s runner up but there’s no word on a theme yet. Considering who and how he is, I’m going to guess that it will have something to do with rock and roll.

MTV is going to be reviving its famous ‘Unplugged’ series in collaboration with Starburst candies. The revival will be seen across the board of MTV networks, meaning there will be an edition on MTV, VH1, CMT and streaming over their respective websites. The first round of acoustic performances will be Adam Lambert on VH1, Phoenix on MTV and Reba McEntire on CMT this Wednesday. The tie-in with Starburst comes in as the shows will feature an addition of an unexpected performance of a cover song or a contradictory musical moment, which syncs up with the candy’s new tagline “It’s a juicy contradiction”.

GLAAD Backs ABC Up

Adam Lambert’s sexual orientation had nothing to do with ABC’s decision to cancel his appearance on two shows on their network but because the American Idol alum couldn’t stick to a script – at least that’s what the network and GLAAD would like you to believe. The nation’s most outspoken gay rights group just released a statement in support of ABC’s decision to pull the singer out of Jimmy Kimmel Live and an upcoming New Year’s Eve special in the wake of his AMA performance. GLAAD backed ABC’s explanation saying “It would appear that the kiss between Adam Lambert and his keyboardist did not factor into ABC’s decision … ABC has a history of positive gay and transgender inclusion that includes featuring kisses between gay and lesbian couples on-air.”

Adam Lambert recently got a sit down with Barbara Walters as the openly gay singer is part of the icon’s special ‘Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009’. Along with Lady Gaga, the American Idol alum was chosen as two of the most prominent names in entertainment, sports, politics and pop culture. Those are two good choices, not only in the music industry but as a whole. Barbara’s interviews with them will air on Wednesday, December 9 on ABC. Also rumored to be on the list are Kate Gosselin, Sarah Palin, Tyler Perry and Glenn Beck. I wonder who the rest are.

Adam Lambert Gets Axed from GMA

Adam Lambert’s performance on ABC’s Good Morning America got cancelled last week. There was no official reason that was given for the axe of his planned performance. We all know what it really meant though. The network was upset with the gay singer’s American Music Awards performance and was afraid of what he would do on live morning television. I doubt any of this would be happening if it was Lady Gaga who gave the same type of performance by making out with one of her female musicians or shoved one of her female dancers in her crotch. If Britney Spears and Madonna got away with it, why can’t Adam?

ABC Gets Complaints About Adam Lambert

Although many people loved Adam Lambert’s performance on Sunday night at the American Music Awards, there are also many conservatives that have their panties in a bunch. The American Idol alum performed his latest single ‘For Your Entertainment’, which included simulating oral sex with a male dancer, making out with one of the male band members and plenty of crotch grabbing. According to ABC, over 1500 people have called to complain about the singer’s performance. Though the network has classified the response as moderate, there are still those who have taken to online forums to bash Adam’s performance. I guess it was just too much all in one time.

During Adam Lambert’s interview with Out magazine, the American Idol alum spoke about his fellow singer, Lady Gaga. He said “I’m so refreshed by her. I think she’s finally taking risks. Like where are those people? You know what I mean? I’m inspired by it. I’m like, ‘Yeah, fuck yeah. Let’s take risks. I think she’s smart. I predict that she will experiment and change it up a little bit. She’s got to show a little crack in the veneer for the audience to really get a three-dimensional view of who she is. I love that she’s brave enough to be that eccentric. I think it takes balls to be that out there.”

Another subject of controversy is Adam Lambert, more specifically his performance at the American Music Awards. It seems Adam Lambert simulated oral sex with one of his male dancers and also made out with one of the band members on stage… among a few other things. This did turn a few heads, but Adam Lambert stood adamant in front of all the complaints saying: “You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person. I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either.” Adam Lambert really does make a valid point here… or at least, that’s what he’s hopefully doing and not trying to subtly say that libido is the essence of life, because then he’s no different than the other stage performers that might end up turning heads.
