among the British artists to earn multiple 2012 BRIT Award
nominations, which were announced on Thursday (Jan. 12).
Blur are getting the Lifetime Achievement award this year, so that’s something worth tuning in for.
The 2012 BRIT Awards will be held on 21 February 2012.

Sarah Hyland: ‘Adele saved my life’

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland has thanked British star Adele for saving her life. The incident occurred last week when 20-year-old Sarah’s boyfriend lost control of their car while driving on the Los Angeles freeway in a rainstorm. She said: “It was so foggy you couldn’t see ten feet ahead of you. “He had an audition and we were going through lines. He would have been focusing on remembering his lines [but] Someone Like You came on the radio, so we blasted it to sing along to it. And then we hit a water pocket…The wheels turned to the right and locked and then it spun.” The pair did spin several times but there was no damage to the car and they were uninjured. Sarah added to E! News: “We were just really shaken up. “It’s like, ‘Thank you for saving my life!’”

Eminem is back to public attention worldwide. He became a week ago the first artist who has sold over a million digital copies of an album.
The Detroit hip-hoper managed to add another significant title to his list of trophies. Due to the incredible sales of the album “Recovery”, Eminem exceeded 1,000,000 of copies sold on the Internet in the U.S., becoming the first artist who can be proud of this achievement.
Very soon however, Adele succeeded to dethrone the first Eminem album, with her album “21″, managing to sell with about 50,000 more copies than “Recovery.”
The two artists, Eminem and Adele, have become leading advocates of online music market. Very close to them coming in as third, is the album “The Fame” by Lady Gaga, who gathered up almost 975,000 digital copies sold.

Katy Perry Reschedules Tour Dates

Everyone is getting sick these days. Adele had to cancel all of her live shows last month due to laryngitis. Taylor Swift recently had to reschedule tour dates due to bronchitis. Now, Katy Perry needs to do the same due to a nasty case of food poisoning and severe dehydration. The pop singer was supposed to be doing shows for Chicago and St. Paul but those have unfortunately been postponed until August 21 and 23. Katy wrote on her Facebook “I apologize to my fans in Chicago & the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!” Tickets will be honored on the new dates or refunded through the same venue of purchase. Feel better soon!

Adele is a very keen smoker

And it looks like she doesn’t have any trouble admitting to it. Adele recently voiced out her love of smoking, even if it might one day lead to her losing her vocal talents. This is what she said on the matter: ”I gave up smoking for two months. It was fucking grim. I had laryngitis about a week before the album came out and it was so frightening. I stopped smoking, drinking, eating or drinking citrus, spicy foods and caffeine. It was so fucking boring. When my album went to number one here and in America, I just sat in my room and watched TV because I couldn’t go out and talk to anyone. My voice was better when I wasn’t smoking. Within a week I noticed it had changed, but I’d rather my voice be a bit shit so I can have a fucking laugh.” Adele seems to make it pretty clear that vices really are the little perks of life.

She said “I’m so excited for Adele. She’s doing so well all over the world and it’s wonderful to see the world embrace her. She’s beaten some of my chart records but I’m happy for her. I love seeing women succeed and she’s so talented.” Who doesn’t love Adele though?

Adele recently had nothing but love for Rihanna and Mumford & Sons, and their respective music. The British singer said “Over New Year’s and Christmas, I had time off and I went to all my friends’ parties singing it [Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ album]. Doing the dance moves, I was convinced I was Rihanna. She was possessing me with that song ['What's My Name?'], I swear. I fucking love Mumford & Sons. This song ['After the Storm'] is so beautiful, it kind of makes me cry and smile at the same time. ‘Sigh No More’ was [my ex's and my] record. We blossomed to that record and we died to that record. Whenever I put it on, I want to write about my ex. I don’t think my album would be here yet if it hadn’t been for that record. I’d still be home drunk in the dark moping around my flat.” That’s a true testament to the power of music.

Adele is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine. In the interview, the singer talks just about everything – from her music to her absent father to her love of herself. When talking about her body, Adele said “My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like…I don’t like going to the gym. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine. Even If I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my tits and ass out for no one.” Go tell them! Adele also said “I don’t make music for eyes. I make music for ears.”

Adele recently premiered the music video for her song “Rolling in the Deep”. The track is the official lead single from the singer’s upcoming studio album “21” which hits stores on January 24th in the UK and February 22nd in the US. The video was directed by Sam Brown, who has worked with the likes of the Foo Fighters and Jay-Z. The clip is all sorts of amazing. Adele looks absolutely beautiful in the video and while it didn’t have an actual story, the visuals were enough to blow your mind. To say that I love it would be an understatement.

The VH1 Divas special is shaping up to be a kick ass show. A new exclusive promo poster was recently released featuring the lovely Jennifer Hudson who was just added to the line up of incredibly talented singers. Jennifer joins her fellow American Idol alums Kelly Clarkson and Jordin Sparks, as well as Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis and Adele. Veteran divas Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, Melissa Etheridge and Martina McBride are also slated to perform on the live broadcast which will air on September 17. I will surely be tuning in to this. It’s like an orgy of music goodness from all those fantastic females.

Paula Abdul recently announced on her Twitter that she will be hosting VH1’s Divas Live come this September. Congratulations to her for nabbing a great gig. The former American Idol judge said “Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year’s “Vh1 Divas”!The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST.” Some of the big name performances slated for the special this year will be Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Adele and Miley Cyrus. Maybe they can get Paula to have an opening dance number for the show. So who’s excited to see Paula working again?

Grammy nominated Brit songstress Adele has succeeded where many have failed. The singer has found success in America and has charmed Vogue boss Anna Wintour. Adele will be appearing in an upcoming Vogue spread shot by photographer Annie Liebovitz. At one of her fittings, Adele was called by Miss Wintour. Adele said of the meeting “It was just like ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’ It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice. She was like, ‘What labels do you like?’ I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in ‘Vogue’ or something before.” The Vogue editor even offered to Style the singer for the Grammys this Sunday.

Adele has not had the best of luck with men – you only need to listen to her heartbreaking No1 album 19 to work that out.

So I was chuffed when the teen songstress finally found a fella — even if it was the daftly named Slinky Sunbeam from up-and-coming indie act The More Assured. They pair met earlier this year and had a whirlwind romance.

But now the larger-than-life singer has been dumpedfor a stick-thin model — ahead of the release of her single Cold Shoulder later this month.

Bassist Slinky — who I would love to see introduce himself with a straight face — is now dating the equally crazily named Burberry model Morwenna Lytton-Cobbold. They have been joined at the hip since hooking up at a London party last month.

And just when I thought the follow-up to Adele’s soulful debut album 19 was going to be an uplifting record about the joys of falling in love.

My source revealed: “Adele and Slinky met in February and really hit it off. They are both huge characters and had each other in stitches. It was really sweet. They started dating and Adele really thought the relationship was going somewhere. She was really into Slinky and it was great to see her so happy. She’d had a bit of a drought when it came to men, despite all her success. But then after about a month she headed off to America to do some gigs and promotions. She hoped Slinky would be waiting when she got back. But he didn’t hang around. He traded her in for a skinny model.”

I think young Slinky may have made a mistake here.

Adele is a brilliant lass. I love the way she doesn’t conform to showbiz stereotypes — and appears to own only one jumper.

But the real losers here are the children — for if Slinky and toff Morwenna have kids I doubt they’ll be called John or Jane…
