Alanis Morissette has a new song – Professional Torturer

The singer has recently released a brand new song called “Professional Torturer”. This song will actually be featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming movie “Radio Free Albemuth” in which Alanis Morissette will be playing the lead role. It’s a very mellow little piece with piano and guitar and the singer’s voice being the only elements making up the song. It’s a rather relaxing listen if one is into that sort of folk song. One would expect it to go off into a different direction at some point but it just keeps true to its relaxing nature. It’s probably a good song for a few mellow moments.

Alanis Morissette shows off baby bump on Twitter

Alanis Morissette showed off her baby bump covered in henna tattoos. The pregnant singer, 36, posted the picture of her growing belly on Twitter. In Arabic culture, the temporary skin decorations are typically applied during the seventh month of pregnancy. “Some rituals surprise in the heart-warming department,” Morisette wrote under the snap. Morissette and husband MC Souleye have previously revealed they are expecting a boy – due in early 2011.

Lady Gaga Gets 4th Top 10 Single

After being honored as Billboard’s Rising Star, Lady Gaga’s hit song ‘Paparazzi’ has made it to the number 7, up from number 11, spot on the Billboard Pop Songs chart making the song her fourth top 10 hit in the chart! The hit song is also currently sitting at the number 6 spot on the Hot 100. The singer is the fifth female artist in the chart’s history to have at least 4 top 10 singles from a debut album. Lady Gaga joins the ranks of Alanis Morissette, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and Fergie in that category. Congratulations to the new Princess of Pop!

Kelly Clarkson Does Kings of Leon and Alanis Morissette

Kelly Clarkson mashed two cover songs together, Alanis Morissette’s ‘That I Would Be Good’ and Kings of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’, while the original American Idol kicked off her ‘All I Ever Wanted’ tour at the Mohegan Sun Arena last week in Uncasville, Connecticut. The singer did so well with that! I wonder if the cover mash up was just a one time thing or if it’s really part of her concert set. Maybe she should think about doing a covers album. Kelly previously also covered a song by Miley Cyrus and did way better than the Disney star ever could. I’d line up to buy cover album from Kelly for sure!

Alanis Morissette is Looking Good

Alanis Morissette recently sat down for an interview with OK! Magazine where she talked about her weight gain, subsequent weight loss and the possibility of getting married soon. She said that she gained her weight from eating “A lot of salt and processed grains like bread. I was a sandwich person, and if I had rice, I would pack the salt on.” She also talked about what her boyfriend, attorney Tom Ballanco, thinks of the weight loss saying “He just cares about my well-being. He thought I was sexy at whatever weight that I’ve been. I’ve never felt loved in that way before.”

In case you didn’t know, comedian Dave Coulier was the inspiration behind Alanis Morissette’s legendary breakthrough song ‘You Oughta Know’. Several years after the fact, he’s finally talking about it saying “I said, ‘Wow, this girl is angry.’ And then I said, ‘Oh man, I think it’s Alanis.’ . . . I listened to the song over and over again, and I said, ‘I think I have really hurt this person.’ I tried to contact her and I finally got a hold of her. And at the same time, the press was calling and saying, ‘You want to comment on this song?’ I called her and I said, ‘Hi. Uh, what do you want me to say?’ And she said, ‘You can say whatever you want.’ We saw each other and hung out for an entire day. And it was beautiful. It was one of those things where it was kind of like, ‘We’re good.’”
