Kelly Clarkson is making a girls band

Former American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, is tired of her solo career. She wants to form a girls band with which she hopes to conquer the hearts of fans, again.
Kelly Clarkson wants to develop her career and decided to make a band with other girls. This band will be called Already Famous.
Band components will include two girls who were backing vocals for Kelly, Jill Pickering and Kate Rapier, and of course Kelly Clarckson. The girls have already started recording and first results are expected.
“I went to Oklahoma to record some songs with @ jillandkate! I love to write songs and record with friends,” she wrote on her personal Twitter account.
The new band has a Twitter account and announced plans for the future: “We composed and played together for four years so we thought it’s time to record. We love to sing together!”

Everyone has been waiting on pins and needles to know for sure if Jennifer Lopez will be returning to the panel for next year’s American Idol. Worry no longer as sources have recently confirmed that the pop singer/actress is all set to return and that she’ll be making quite a lot of money for all her trouble. Insiders say that JLo has another single year contract almost finalized and that she’ll be getting just a little over $20 million, which is quite a hefty pay raise from her $12 million this past season. All she needs to do is sign. If she turns this down, she better have a damn good reason.

The next eliminated singer to go up on the American Idol stage was Jacob Lusk. The gospel crooner performed “I Smile” with gospel star Kirk Franklin and music icon Gladys Knight. Just like James Durbin, Jacob seemed completely thrilled to be performing and it was really nice to see. It’s like having the last day of school – you suddenly love everybody. I know I wasn’t the biggest Jacob fan but even this performance made me think that he could have been better to be one of the top 2. Yes, I’m still griping about the performance night of the finale.

On last night’s big American Idol finale, Lauren Alaina apparently managed to steal away the night with her performance of Kristy Lee Cook’s “Like My Mother Does”. Despite having lost her voice during rehearsals and not really doing much with Carrie Underwood’s “Flat on the Floor” and Pam Tillis’ “Maybe it was Memphis”, Lauren Alaina managed to wow away the audiences with her very emotional performance of the song. However this might just turn out to not be enough of Scotty McCreery seems to really be the favorite to win this season. Still, Lauren Alaina will probably go places even if she finishes second on the show.

Nigel Lythgoe took to his Twitter to announce that there were over 70 million votes cast to determine who the top 3 of American Idol will be. With the reality TV competition nearing its finale, every vote counts for whoever it is that you want to win. So the question is if America voted right. Instead of a bottom 3, Ryan Seacrest announced that he was giving us a top 3. Lauren Alaina was the first to secure a spot in the top 3. And in a shocking turn of events, Haley Reinhart, the singer who everyone thought was going home, ended up securing the 2nd spot. Scotty McCreery was then announced as the final singer in the top 3, sending James Durbin home. America, what is wrong with you?!

American Idol First Round Recap

For the first round of performances, the top 4 American Idol hopefuls took on inspirational songs. James Durbin kicked off the night with “Don’t Stop Believin’”. As much as I love the song, I think it’s time for it to take a break. From “The Sopranos” to “Glee”, it’s overdone. James’ vocals were better than last week though but he still doesn’t compare, though I doubt anyone can, to Steve Perry. Haley Reinhart sang “Earth Song”. I don’t care if Michael Jackson wrote it and if Haley’s vocals were good, it’s just plain boring. Scotty McCreery sang “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning”. Another boring song that I thought was gimmicky but with good vocals. To wrap up this round, Lauren Alaina sang “Anyway”. She started off rough but definitely got way better throughout the song and I think this was the best song choice of the bunch. But really, I just want to forget the first round. From the boring song choices to Randy Jackson’s nasty attack on Haley, I thought this was the worst American Idol top 4 episode in history.
For the second round, Haley took on “I Who Have Nothing”; Scotty sang “Young Blood”; Lauren performed “Trouble”; and James sang “Love Potion No. 9”

American Idol Results Show Review

I wasn’t entirely surprised that Jacob Lusk was eliminated on American Idol last night. I’ve been ready for him to go home for a while now. That leaves Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart and James Durbin in the top 4. Anyway, the show opened up with a very long performance of “Happy Together”. Then there was an entertaining Hell’s Kitchen filler and a boring Ford video. Lady Antebellum took the stage next and then more filler. Ryan Seacrest then went on with some of the results. Then there was a performance by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. There were more results and finally the elimination. Who made the show an hour long anyway? If they could cut out the fillers, the results show would only last for 30 minutes. I want 30 minutes of all my Thursday nights back AI!

Lauren Alaina picks one of the favorites

It seems that the American Idol contestant decided to try and show that she might just be one of the best that’s ever competed in the show. So for last night Lauren Alaina chose to perform LeAnn Rimes’ “Unchained Melody” which is supposedly one of the most well-known and performed songs on the show. Apparently she didn’t do too bad a job with it since the judges all liked the way she sang it, with Steven Tyler saying the following: “Your voice, your singing is so ripe, it’s so there. I could listen to you all night.” Even though Lauren Alaina is still doing very well, the numbers are very tight now and there’s no way of knowing if she’ll still get to say on the show.

American Idol Tour Tickets Now on Sale

Some tickets won’t be on sale until May 13th but there are some places where you can get your American Idol tour tickets today. There are 44 concert stops planned beginning on July 6th in Utah and wrapping up on September 10th in New York. Here’s to hoping that the sales for this year’s tour will be better than last season’s when seven events ended up getting cancelled due to low interest. If you know the tour schedule, the only places which wouldn’t start selling tickets until May 13th are Charlotte, St. Louis, Bridgeport, Providence, Albany, Worcester, Uncasville, Syracuse, and Reading.

Katy Perry performed her latest single “ET” on American Idol last night. The Dr. Luke, Ammo, Max Martin creation is the fourth #1 single from the pop singer’s second studio album “Teenage Dream”. Considering she got zero Grammys this year, that’s unbelievable! As for her performance, it was cool. The staging and costumes definitely helped get the song’s vibe and Katy sounded great. There were low points though, like Kanye West’s presence and Katy’s choreography. Maybe she could make a few tweaks to make it better. In other news, Australian fans can catch Katy when her tour hits Australia next week.

Thoughts on American Idol

After finding out the theme for last night’s American Idol, I was actually looking forward to the show. At least until they started with the opening act of bringing in the contestants who had been voted off. While it was great to see Pia Toscano and Paul McDonald back on stage, shouldn’t they have reserved this type of thing for the finale? And then there were the performances. While some of them brought the house down, I’m really disappointed that it’s the top 7 yet they still seem to not have gotten the point of making the right song choices. If not for Haley Reinhart’s brave choice of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and James Durbin’s stellar performance of Muse’s “Uprising”, I would have labeled this as the worst show of the season.

American Idol’s predictable result

Last night’s American Idol elimination probably came as no surprise to anyone. For the first time in so many weeks one of the boys had to pack up and go. Even though the bottom three still included Haley Reinhart, which wasn’t all that fair given her recent performances, the real battle was between Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald. The latter was the one that had to pack up and get back to Nashville. Still, his departure wasn’t all that bad and he even performed Rod Stewart’s “Maggie May” at Jennifer Lopez’s request. He didn’t have any hard feelings for leaving and after all, why should he? There’s a whole world of possibilities waiting for him out there now that he’s free of the American Idol race.

Everyone was shocked at last night’s elimination results on American Idol. If you didn’t catch the show, let me break it down for you. The singers in the bottom three were Stefano Langone, Pia Toscano and Jacob Lusk. Yes, I said Pia. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it was actually her that got sent packing. She finally was able to show us that she can do more than just ballads and she gets sent home. I actually expected her to at least make it to the top 3. What happened to the voting? I knew Thia Megia and Naima Adedapo’s fans had to throw their votes to someone else but I never thought that Pia would suffer the negative effects. What do you think of the elimination?
