Taylor Swift belts out at the 2010 American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in Los Angeles this past Sunday. The 20-year old country singer performed her song “Back to December” and also sampled One Republic’s hit song “Apologize” during her performance. I loved the song when I first heard it and I’m loving it even more after seeing her performance. I would also like to say a huge congratulations to Taylor for taking home the award for Favorite Female Country Artist. How many awards does that make it now? Everybody just loves Taylor and there’s no stopping her.

Christina Aguilera to Perform at AMAs

Christina Aguilera will be performing at the 2010 American Music Awards on November 25. The 29-year old newly single singer will perform a live number from her upcoming film ‘Burlesque’ at the awards show. I’m glad to hear that she’s going to be doing something from that because if she performed a song off of her flop ‘Bionic’, I will surely be turning the channel. I wonder if Cher will be making a guest appearance during her performance or if it will just be Christina. Bon Jovi, Pink and Usher are also slated to perform at the ceremony and there are reports that Rihanna will be opening the show.

Rap-Up is reporting that Rihanna will be this year’s opening act for the 2010 American Music Awards. Apart from her performance, the 22-year old Barbadian R&B singer is also nominated for Favorite Female Artist for Soul/R&B, alongside Sade and Alicia Keys. Other acts set to perform this year include the likes of Usher, Pink and Bon Jovi. The AMAs will air live on ABC from LA’s Nokia Theater on November 21. Last year, Rihanna performed a hot number in a white bondage outfit. I wonder what outrageous outfit she’s going to wear to this year’s event. I’m sure it’s going to be another hot one.

Does Adam Lambert have a new man? Unbeknownst to the singer, he was secretly being videotaped by some hardcore fans at the after party for his New Year’s Eve performance in Los Angeles. And just what did those fans get on tape? It was none other than the American Idol alum’s so-called straight guitarist Tommy giving Adam a kiss on the lips. Interesting! I don’t know that many “straight” men that love to kiss openly gay guys on the lips. Maybe Adam was such a great kisser on the AMAs that Tommy decided to play for the home team – quite possible.

Adam Lambert Gets Axed from GMA

Adam Lambert’s performance on ABC’s Good Morning America got cancelled last week. There was no official reason that was given for the axe of his planned performance. We all know what it really meant though. The network was upset with the gay singer’s American Music Awards performance and was afraid of what he would do on live morning television. I doubt any of this would be happening if it was Lady Gaga who gave the same type of performance by making out with one of her female musicians or shoved one of her female dancers in her crotch. If Britney Spears and Madonna got away with it, why can’t Adam?

ABC Gets Complaints About Adam Lambert

Although many people loved Adam Lambert’s performance on Sunday night at the American Music Awards, there are also many conservatives that have their panties in a bunch. The American Idol alum performed his latest single ‘For Your Entertainment’, which included simulating oral sex with a male dancer, making out with one of the male band members and plenty of crotch grabbing. According to ABC, over 1500 people have called to complain about the singer’s performance. Though the network has classified the response as moderate, there are still those who have taken to online forums to bash Adam’s performance. I guess it was just too much all in one time.

Another subject of controversy is Adam Lambert, more specifically his performance at the American Music Awards. It seems Adam Lambert simulated oral sex with one of his male dancers and also made out with one of the band members on stage… among a few other things. This did turn a few heads, but Adam Lambert stood adamant in front of all the complaints saying: “You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person. I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either.” Adam Lambert really does make a valid point here… or at least, that’s what he’s hopefully doing and not trying to subtly say that libido is the essence of life, because then he’s no different than the other stage performers that might end up turning heads.

The American Music Awards announced via their official Twitter and a TV spot that Janet Jackson will be opening the whole she-bang with an 8-minute medley. The singer has her new greatest hits CD ‘Number Ones’ coming out this coming Tuesday and the AMAs will be airing on November 22 at 8PM on ABC. I cannot wait to see her performance. The last performance that we all saw her in was her tribute to her late brother, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. I wonder if there’s going to be an element in her AMAs performance dedicated to Michael.

Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed from Rihanna’s camp, sources are saying that a deal has been made to have the Barbadian beauty of a singer perform at this year’s American Music Awards. The ceremony takes place the day before her confirmed appearance on Good Morning America. I wonder if Chris Brown will also be attending the show. I’m sure Rihanna will be selective when talking to the press if she goes and he happens to be there too. I personally wouldn’t be comfortable if he would be there just 50 feet away. I think he should just stay at home.

Michael Jackson Earns AMA Nod

The late great singer Michael Jackson has been nominated for five American Music Awards this year, including artist of the year. The King of Pop will battle it out for that high honor with the likes of Lady Gaga, Eminem, Kings of Leon and Taylor Swift. However, the winners of each category are determined by fans through online voting so you have to figure that Michael’s fans will be going out in droves to make sure that he wins. He deserves the win though. If he doesn’t, maybe the AMAs could just give him a special award like lifetime achievement or something.

R. Kelly Tour Will Go On Without Ne-Yo

Well, it was a great two-show deal.

According to his rep, Ne-Yo will no longer be a part of the R. Kelly tour. Ne-Yo states, “I am disappointed that I won’t be able to perform for my fans. I love being onstage because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you – and they were really feeling our show.”

Word was given to Ne-Yo’s posse on Monday that he would be let go from the remainder of the tour. Apparently, the two could not reach an agreement on a contract. Kelly’s spokesperson told MTV News, “This was a contractual issue between Ne-Yo and the promoter, not Kelly’s decision at all.” Ne-Yo believed, as of Sunday, that all issues had been resolved.

Not to worry, though. Ne-Yo’s got plenty of other activities to keep him busy. The Vegas singer/songwriter performed with Rihanna on Sunday at the American Music Awards. He announced the masquarade ball that his Compound Foundation would be hosting, and he appeared on World Children’s Day for the Ronald McDonald House. He even appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Ne-Yo isn’t the first performer to be dropped early from an R. Kelly tour. In 2004, Kelly’s tour with Jay-Z ended early. Apparently when you sign to tour with Kelly, you do so at your own risk.
