Are Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley giving their relationship another go? The 25-year old Canadian pop rock singer and her Sum 41 front man of an ex were spotted together at the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ premiere after party in London. Avril and Deryck even left together in a waiting car but kept their distance once inside. The former couple announced their separation in September of 2009 with Avril posting a blog on her MySpace after the announcement which read “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.” While it looks like they were getting more than friendly again, Avril’s rep tells ET Canada that she and Deryck are just friends.
Avril Lavigne keeps pushing back the release for her next album from last November to early 2010 and it’s more likely to be mid 2010 because the pop punk singer’s ex-husband Deryck Whibley is producing the thing and they can’t seem to work together amicably. A music agent close to the former couple said “The first eight songs, Avril and Deryck worked with a lot of love and it came easy. But there’s three or four more to do and they just ain’t feeling it. It’ll be a terrific album if they can put this aside for a month or so and concentrate on what matters — the music.” Well they are going through a divorce. Apparently, things are getting ugly in court with the Sum 41 front man demanding spousal support from Avril who has a sizable amount of cash from her music and fashion line. Under California law, the money needs to be divided fairly with her ex.
Wannabe rock star Avril Lavigne has reportedly been hosting a plethora of flings despite still being married to Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley. In December, Avril was spotted hanging out with Brandon Davis and then seen with her hubby. It’s exactly the type of move you do when you need to reassure people that you’re marriage is not on the rocks. Until you get seen with someone else, of course. According to Star magazine, the Canadian singer has been partying all around LA hot spots where she was caught making out with pineapple billionaire Justin Murdock. Someone needs to file for divorce before things get messy.
I guess someone still likes Avril Lavigne as she was recently awarded with the Certificate of Honor from the China Association of Social Workers recently. The 24-year old Canadian singer had helped to raise funds for poor families and children with disabilities in China during her Best Damn Tour. She even presented gifts to children from China’s earthquake stricken Sichuan province. Avril also performed her last stop on her world tour at Beijing’s Wukesong Indoor Stadium. I guess even the biggest of douche bags can still do good things. Kudos go out to Avril! If anything, she can quit the singing and go for the humanitarian route if she wants to gain more fans.
Last Thursday, Avril Lavigne partied the night away with her Sum 41 front man of a husband Deryck Whibley during one of the band’s after parties. But come Saturday night, I’m sure Avril was looking for a stiff drink to drive the blues away. If you recall, tickets for her concert in Buffalo, New York went on a major sale. But even though that was the case, the arena still turned out to be more empty than full. It’s really a sad situation that could break some hearts. But considering that this happened to Avril, it really just makes me want to laugh.
Avril Lavinge is still soldiering on with her tour and the less than pleasant reviews keep pouring in as she goes. Globe and Mail from her native home of Canada summed it up with the title to their review saying “She’s like, so whatever.†The reviewer goes on to talk about how Avril’s original skateboard chick image pretty much disappeared except for a few splashes of the skull and crossbones imagery on the stage and how the show was more production-reliant than anything. Here’s the worst part of the review “none of it can make up for the worst damn truth about Avril Lavigne: she’s not a very good singer.â€
Canadian singer Celine Dion has enough money and taste that she can go on a shopping spree in New York stopping by the swankiest stores like Chanel and Chopard. But when it comes to Avril Lavigne, we can’t argue that she doesn’t have any money but I can argue that she doesn’t have much class.
The pop punk poser couple Avril and hubby Deryck Whibley were seen shopping in LA on Thursday but they were nowhere near Rodeo Drive. Instead, they shopped at the 99 Cent store. Avril must really be saving up and pinching pennies because she knows money for her concert ticket sales isn’t coming in.
The 2007 World Music Awards which was held at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, Monaco on Sunday was truly a star-studded event. Even the Prince of Monaco was there!Julian McMahon of ‘Nip/Tuck’ was the host of the event which was attended by the likes of Rihanna, Avril Lavigne and Ciara. Rihanna was nominated and was also slated as a performer at the show. She looked gorgeous as ever in a flashy green gown. Avril, though I never really liked her sense of style, has made some improvement with her strapless black dress and Doc Martens. Props to Ciara for working two different but equally gorgeous outfits.
