Beth Ditto has said she wants to create a “gospel supergroup” with Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle.

The Gossip frontwoman has admitted she wants to help the 48-year-old Scottish singer after her recent meltdown.

Beth said: “I’m reaching out to Susan. She should hook up with me and The Priests. We would be the world’s first gospel supergroup. I think it’s horrible people have been making fun of her.

“Susan just wants to love Jesus and sing – it’s cute. Only I can help her out of her meltdown.”

When it comes to Beth Ditto, subtlety is the last word you’d ever think of. And the Gossip front woman proves just that as she is featured in an interview in the new issue of Spin. In it, she talks about her label, her music and her body.

She was asked about whether she thinks it’s marginalizing to be on a label for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender artists to which she replies with a no. She thinks that she doesn’t have to explain much when she’s sitting in a room with people who have the same views as her. She also gushed about how nice it was to hear that Keira Knightley thought Beth had “the most amazing body”. She says it’s good to hear people like her to say that because others listen to her.
