Britney Spears’ strange nomadic behavior

The singer must have some nomadic ancestry… that has probably faded with time, though. It seems Britney Spears feels the need to leave her home every once in a while to get away from it all… a few blocks away, that is, to a nearby hotel where she apparently checks in for a few days every month even though it is very close to her home. This is what a member of the hotel staff related on the matter: “She’s no reason to be here. Last time she had staff running around after her kids as they had both caught flu and she had no medicine for them. She uses the gym, is waited on and she uses the babysitting service.” They’re not too keen on having Britney Spears around, are they? Just the same, it looks as if she’s either trying to indulge her nomadic spirit, but doesn’t get too far, or Britney Spears likes to play diva for a few days a month. Jamie Spears has probably forbidden that for her at home.

Carrie Underwood to Make TV Acting Debut

Carrie Underwood is going back to TV to make her acting debut this spring as the country singer is scheduled to play a love interest for Ted on the show ‘How I Met Your Mother’. The American Idol alum’s character Tiffany is described as an “enigmatic pharmaceutical sales rep”. The show featuring Carrie will be airing some time in March. It would be safe to assume that she’s not the so-called mother in the title of the show as her stint is only for an episode. I wonder if Carrie Underwood can bring in the same ratings magic that Britney Spears’ guest appearances did.

Lady Gaga is Woman of the Year

Lady Gaga was recently named MTV News’ Woman of the Year and beat out the likes of Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Beyonce. As they put it, “There’s no one who challenged, provoked, entertained and, well, titillated us over the past 12 months quite like she has.” There’s no argument from me! The princess of pop deserves it so very much! However, if any of the other three singers won the award, they pretty much deserve it too because they fit the bill. It’s just that if you rank them all, Lady Gaga is clearly at the top of the mountain.

Britney Spears Covers Elle

Britney Spears, along with her two sons, is featured on the cover of Elle magazine’s January 2010 issue. The 28-year old pop singer posed on the kitchen counter in one photo and snuggled up in bed with her boys in another. It doesn’t seem at all like an Elle shoot. It looks more like a family portrait to me. While it looks sweet and all, we know that isn’t exactly the case as it’s publicly known how chaotic her family situation is with the conservatorship and custody issues. But the Elle photos do give me some sort of hope regarding Britney’s situation.

Britney Spears Has Record Breaking Ticket Sales

Britney Spears just broke the record for concert ticket sales at Sydney’s Acer Arena with 66,247 tickets sold across four nights. That’s pretty impressive, especially considering how the pop singer has been surrounded by harsh criticism due to her shows being anything less than live. Given those sales numbers, it seems that not that many people really care. Mind you, Britney just managed to edge out Coldplay from the number one spot by around 7000 seats. Congratulations to Britney! And to all her haters down under, where are all your complaints now? I still say they should have known better and just shut up about it.

Pearl Jam show Britney Spears how its done Down Under

Pearl Jam kicked off their Australian tour in the shadow of Britney Spears, making a reference to lip-synching before a crowd of 30,000.

The band’s frontman, Eddie Vedder, reportedly told the audience at Perth’s Members Equity Stadium that he would be lip-synching and that, according to some new rules under consideration, he would do the right thing and confess to the fact in advance.

He also joked that he would use the miming opportunity as an excuse to knock back some wine and enjoy a cigarette. Then he let rip without a sound before turning the microphone towards the crowd to allow them to take over singing Pearl Jam classics such as Daughter, Alive and Better Man.

A local review of the concert in the western coastal city where Spears began her Circus tour, reported: “Pearl Jam kicked off their Australian tour with a slick performance in Perth, which gave the crowd a taste of the band’s newest offerings whilst rocking out all the old favourites.

“The week after Britney Spears started her Australian tour at the Burswood Dome with a concert big on lip-synching and short on audience interaction, Eddie Vedder demonstrated just how a real, charismatic and talented musician conducts a gig.”

Britney Spears’ Twitter account hacked

Britney Spears’ Twitter account has reportedly been hacked into – and fake tweets have been posted on it to make it look like she is a devil worshipper.

The pop star’s page on the social-networking site was compromised this morning.

One fake tweet read: “I give myself to Lucifer every day for it to arrive as quickly as possible. Glory to Satan!”

Another read: “I hope that the New World Order will arrive as soon as possible! [signed] Britney.”

In June, another false message posted on Twitter stated that Spears – who is currently on her Circus tour in Australia – was dead.

Earlier today, a message on the 27-year-old singer’s official website revealed that her account had been hacked into.

It read: “This morning, Britney’s Twitter [account] was hacked. We apologise for any offence the message from the hacker caused and are working with Twitter on remedying the situation as quickly as possible.”

The mischievous messages were later removed from Twitter.

Musicians seek Guantanamo Bay records

Star musicians will launch a legal bid to discover whether their music was played to detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

The music of Britney Spears, the Bee Gees, Rage Against The Machine and the television show, Sesame Street, was played in the camp, according to government records and the accounts of former detainees.

REM, Pearl Jam and British singer Billy Bragg and others through the National Security Archive will seek to have secret documents about the US Navy base in Cuba made public. The CIA, FBI and Defence Department have been asked to release the information.

Archive director Thomas Blanton believes the government “turned a jukebox into an instrument of torture” at the detention centre. A spokesman for Rage Against The Machine said the band was “sickened” that its music could have been used in “crimes against humanity”.

He added: “Guantanamo is known around the world as one of the places where human beings have been tortured – from waterboarding to stripping, hooding and forcing detainees into humiliating sexual acts – playing music for 72 hours in a row at volumes just below that to shatter the eardrums.”

CIA spokesman George Little said earlier that music is played at Guantanamo but not for “punitive purposes” and at levels “far below a live band”.

Britney Spears has bought a parakeet.

The Womaniser singer, 27, visited a Californian pet shop to get some dog food but got distracted by the birds.

An eyewitness told People.com: “Britney had just picked up some dog food when she spotted the parakeets and decided to buy one.

“She settled on a yellow parakeet and bought a big, white cage and several toys for the bird.”

Britney Spears Custody Extended

Britney Spears’ 50/50 custody will continue throughout the rest of the year. An LA County Superior court extended the order, stating that Sean Preston and Jayden James can travel with their pop singer mom while she is on tour but that she must provide Kevin Federline a place to stay if he wants to come along. It’s not like he can’t afford it though. The bum already gets paid $20,000 a month in child support and up to $25,000 when the children are outside of California. Hopefully, the custody order will become permanent and she can stop paying big fat checks to Kevin.

Sources reveal that Britney Spears will be doing something quite special for her upcoming Las Vegas concerts on September 26th and 27th at Mandalay Bay. I highly doubt that the singer will be singing live the whole show but she will be filming those performances and insiders are saying that the shoot will most likely be in 3D. That’s very Miley Cyrus of her. Details on the release, like whether it will be in theaters, on a DVD or some other option, are still being worked out. What good would filming in 3D be if she wasn’t planning on releasing it in theaters?

Britney Spears’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib has pleaded not guilty to running over a man trying to serve him with a restraining order.

The former paparazzo is accused of driving into process server Ram Moskowitz, who was trying to give him the order telling him to stay away from Britney.

Moskowitz was forced to jump on the bonnet of Ghalib’s Mercedes to avoid being pinned against a dustbin van, but fell off and broke his wrist.

Ghalib was arraigned on Monday at the Van Nuys courthouse in Los Angeles for felony assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run and battery.

He is due back in court on September 29.

Among the items that the singer presented include number 10: “I’d be the first president to wear eye shadow since Nixon”; number 9: “We would only invade fun places like Cabo”; and number 8: “Free pie for everybody.” The list also includes “Costume changes between press conferences” and “Three words: Vice President Diddy.” And number 1 on the list was “The media would pay attention to me and care about what I’m doing.”

American Idol alum Jordin Sparks will soon be opening for Britney Spears on the second North American leg of her Circus tour. Since the Pussycat Dolls seem to be having all sorts of trouble, I guess the pop star wanted a little less drama around. Jordin recently gushed about joining the tour saying “Britney’s show is incredible and for me to be a part of it is a great opportunity.” The singer will be performing at all of Britney’s North American dates, leading up to closing night on September 27th at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas. Congrats to Jordin for getting the gig.

Britney Spears’ ‘Circus’ tour is slowly but surely becoming a world tour. For the first time ever, the recovered pop star will be touring in Australia. Brit said “I’ve wanted to tour Australia for quite some time and now it’s finally happening. My Circus tour is the best show I have ever created and I can’t wait to perform it for all of my Australian fans. See you guys soon!” The Australian leg of her tour will kick off on November 6 at the Perth Burswood Dome and will wrap up on November 24 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. That will make it almost a year or touring for Brit as her tour started this past March.

The rapper has recently received very ardent support from a fan at one of his concerts. Dizzee Rascal was apparently offered a cigarette with marijuana at a live show recently. He related the event: “I get some crazy fans at the festivals. I was on stage recently and a guy ran on just to give me a spliff! He didn’t say anything – he was just a hit-and-run spliff guy. It was great!” Yeah, it really is great when the fans get into your music so well that they actually put it into scene. Dizzee Rascal seems to be a very lucky artist. He should hit a Britney Spears concert every now and again, though… supposedly the fans over there are very excited about those kinds of things as well.
