Carrie Underwood is the sweetheart of the charts this week. The country singer’s new album ‘Play On’ has sold 318,000 copies which cements Carrie’s position in the number 1 spot on the Billboard album charts this week. This marks the second album of the American Idol alum to hit the top spot in the last two years. Carrie’s album ‘Carnival Ride’ managed to sell 527,000 in its debut week back in 2007. Her latest album’s impressive sales have made Carrie the female artist with the largest amount of sales in a week during 2009. What a week! Congratulations to Carrie for her accomplishments!

Here’s the touching note that the country singer wrote for Mike “Thank you #12 (Mike’s jersey number for the Ottawa Senators). You are the most amazing addition to my life! Country singer Carrie Underwood’s hit single ‘Cowboy Casanova’ is burning up the charts and she’s about to unleash another song off of her upcoming album ‘Play On’ which is out on November 3. The American Idol alum uses her new song ‘Mama’s Song’ to thank her mom for teaching her some very important lessons in life. Carrie Underwood Fights Breast Cancer

Country singer Carrie Underwood recently visited the Grand Ole Opry House to flip a switch to turn the backdrop pink to symbolize the fight against breast cancer in Nashville, Tennessee. The 26-year old Aemrican Idol alum told CMT “There are a lot of people out there who have been fighters and who have made it through cancer, but there are a lot of us who don’t want to have to go through that fight. Of course, nobody wants to, but we want to make sure that doesn’t happen, so we’re honoring the people who have been through it and who have made it through it. We’re supporting them, we’re raising awareness and we’re hoping to stop it in its tracks.”

American Idol alums Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler showed their support at the ACM Honors ceremony held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center last Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee. Carrie honored Randy Travis for his excellence in the country music industry over the past 24 years by singing his song ‘I Told You So’. The young blonde singer also has a new song out on iTunes and Amazon called ‘Cowboy Cassanova’ which comes off of her third album ‘Play On’ which will go on sale on November 3. Carrie’s single is already burning up the charts! I’m pretty sure her album is going to sail to number 1 too.

Carrie Underwood has a new single out called ‘Cowboy Casanova’. The song is the first single off of the country singer’s upcoming third album called ‘Play On’ which will come out on November 3. The song was co-written with Mike Elizondo and Brett James. I’m pretty sure that the song will become another hit much like the rest of Carrie’s songs. And I’m sure that the album will be a hit too. I don’t think there’s a Carrie tune that I haven’t fallen in love with. The 26-year old American Idol champ has also shot the music video for the song last week but the release date is still unknown.

Carrie Underwood Donates Musical Instruments

Carrie Underwood surprised the students of Checotah High School in Checotah, Oklahoma last Friday when the American Idol alum donated over $117,000 worth in new music instruments. The donation was a joint gift from the 26-year old singer’s CATS Foundation (Checotah Animal, Town and Schools) and ACM (Academy of Country Music) Lifting Lives. Carrie said “I am so proud to have come from such a wonderful community that helped shape me as a person. And I can think of nothing better than to share the gift of music with the students in my hometown. It’s so great to be able to give back in a way that can truly better the lives of these kids and help create dreams and opportunities.”

It has recently been revealed that one of the world’s favorite country singers, Carrie Underwood, will be releasing a new album before the end of this year. The American Idol alum’s record label, 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville have announced that Carrie’s new, as-of-yet untitled album is scheduled to be released on November 3. If you don’t have much patience to wait for that, the good news is that a single will soon be hitting your favorite radio station some time over the summer. I can’t wait to hear it. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be another wonderful song and a great album from her.

Carrie Underwood won the night’s top honors at the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards which was held at the MGM Grand on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 26-year old American Idol champ picked up Top Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year, which was a fan-voted category this year, beating out Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and George Strait. During her acceptance speech, Carrie gave a shout out to her Ottawa Senators hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher saying “Mike baby, I wish you were here.” During the ceremony, Carrie also performed her hit song ‘I Told You So’.

Carrie Underwood Sings on American Idol Elimination Show

On American Idol’s elimination show, Carrie Underwood and this week’s mentor Randy Travis proved with their performance of ‘I Told You So’ that sometimes, a DJ mash up can make something amazing. Jesse Tack, an evening radio DJ for WUBE in Cincinnati, orchestrated the mash up of Carrie’s cover of the Randy Travis classic. The duet form of the song was received with great critical acclaim and inspired the two signers to actually head into the studio to record an official version. They performed the duet live for the first time on the show. I wonder if the radio DJ got any credit for thinking it up in the first place.

Country Superstar Carrie Underwood is not a fan of Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is something that is celebrated all over the day as a symbol of love day, a day when many hearts are broken but also gives love birds a chance to start their romantic journey. But multiple Grammy Award winner and country superstar Carrie Underwood does not enjoy this day.

According to the singer “I’m anti-Valentine’s Day. I don’t believe – and this goes for anybody – your man shouldn’t love you for one day out of 365. He should love you 365 days out of the year. I want Valentine’s Day every day.”

She has a point but there also a thing that she has against men for sure, why you man should love you, why not it be for both a woman should love her man and man love her woman equally (a little more or less is adjustable).

I think Carrie has had unsuccessful relationship because in her mind she has this thing that only a man should love and a woman can kick off his butt if her man does not do exactly that. Poor thing Carrie as much as I love your singing you won’t make a good girlfriend.

Carrie Underwood Duets with Elvis Presley

Country crooner Carrie Underwood is one of the artists featured on the ‘Elvis Presley Christmas Duets CD’ which is already in stores. The 25-year old former American Idol champion and the King of Rock n Roll sing ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ together. Carrie said “Priscilla actually asked if I would be part of the project, so when Priscilla Presley asks you to sing with Elvis, you do it.” It’s an honor to be able to sing with Elvis so I doubt anyone would turn that offer down. LeAnn Rimes is also on the CD singing ‘Here Comes Santa Claus’. Martina McBride sings ‘Blue Christmas’ and Olivia Newton-John sings ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’.

Carrie Underwood is the current CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, and she expects that this year to she will come out on top at the Annual Country Music Association Awards.

The confidence and positive vibe showed on her face as she arrived at the Sommet Center, sporting a graceful sleeveless yellow gown with a patterned belt & gold clutch. It looks that she is prepared to take on the competition as she prepares to have a ball.

There’s much to look forward for Carrie, she is amongst the host of the awards night and apart from that she will be there to give a live performance on the stage.

And are some big names from the world of music that will make the crowd dance all through the night, the likes of Kid Rock, Big & Rich, Keith Urban, Trace Adkins and Sugarland shall set the stage on fire.

Divas Stand Up to Cancer

‘Just Stand Up’ is a new all-star charity single which was recorded by 15 of the most well-known singers in anticipation of the September 5 ‘Stand Up for Cancer’ telethon. The track was produced by Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds and LA Reid. The song starts off with solos by Beyonce and Carrie Underwood. You will also hear the likes of Fergie, Leona Lewis and Mary J. Blige belting it out. Other vocalists on the track include Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow, Rihanna, Melissa Etheridge, Miley Cyrus, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara and LeAnn Rimes.
