New Music from LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes is fresh from performing at the CMT Music Awards last week and on the heels of that, the 27-year old singer has announced on her Twitter that her new album ‘Lady and Gentlemen’ will be released on vinyl on September 30 and on CD on October 5. LeAnn tweeted that she is “super excited” about releasing new music for all of her fans. One, I’m not even sure she has fans left and two, who the heck still uses vinyl? I think that’s just a waste of the record label’s money by releasing it on vinyl. It’s stupid.

New Moon Soundtrack

The soundtrack listing for ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ has finally been released. Sorry to those who were hoping but Robert Pattinson won’t be singing on this CD. Instead, fans will get an education in a lot of indie music. The artists and bands who lent their sounds to this soundtrack include Death Cab for Cutie, Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, Ok Go, The Killers, and of course, Muse. All in all, there are a total of 15 songs on the soundtrack for ‘New Moon’. I can’t wait to hear the soundtrack as much as I can’t wait to watch the movie!

Britney Spears Rocks Germany

Showing complete signs of recovering from her 2007 Video Music Awards debacle Britney Spears in her 1st live performance since then rocked while performing her hit new single “Womanizer” at the 2008 Bambi Awards in Germany on Thanksgiving Day.

She looked very in shape and much like her former BFF Madonna and the 26 year-old pop star had everyone dancing to their feet and adoring fans were trying to copy her on stage moves while Britney was performing.

Her song “Womanizer” is all over the place and its really being played repeatedly over the airwaves and in just a couple of days time or 2nd December to be precise is the release date for her album ‘Circus’. Man this is a really crucial period in the her career cos’ if this album can meet with a high degree of success then there will be no doubting that Britney has completely a major comeback.

When Britney Spearsâ€™ new CD â€˜Blackoutâ€™ debuted, it actually did relatively well by debuting within the top ten. People even thought that it was going to debut at number 1. But sales rapidly went down and now, the record is doing so poorly that they are actually giving it away.

But you can only get the free Britney CD if you purchase the latest Britney fragrance. Itâ€™s a case of buy one take one with the â€˜oneâ€™ being Britney. Thatâ€™s like buying two stinkers in one. So who would really buy this? The people who bought her CD are pretty much the only fans she has left and they know how much of a stinker her album is by now that they wouldnâ€™t want another one even if it is free.

Greatest Hits – Sara Evans

Sara Evans wasted no time getting back to what she does best in the music game after her divorce. While it’s true that this is a compilation released just a week after the messy event was final, this set arrived and four of its 14 cuts are new tracks.There are some real problems with assembling a collection like this: for starters it contains not a single cut from her excellent debut, Three Chords and the Truth, issued in 1997. Greatest Hits is essentially every big single, but ignores some of the also-rans in favor of new songs. That’s fine and itâ€™s accurate, but it feels incomplete. The new cuts are part of the problem: the album opens with “As if,” an anthemic but generic love song written with Hillary Lindsey and John Shanks, who produced all the new cuts (and you can be sure at least two of them will end up on her next studio effort).

The cut is full of big, compressed guitars and muted, programmed-sounding drums â€” despite the fact that Evans has one of the best bands in the business.
