Pia Toscano gets another standing ovation

Last night on American Idol the top thirteen contestants that made it through last week had to sing a song by their own musical idol. For this occasion, American Idol contestant Pia Toscano chose Celine Dion’s “All by Myself”. Clearly this music suits her very well and her vocals are pretty much off the charts. So in response Pia Toscano gets another standing ovation this week too and the following comment from Jennifer Lopez: “I think a lot of people were wondering what you were going to do to top last week — there it is.” Well, it’s a pretty safe bet that Pia Toscano is pretty much safe and will be competing further for the American Idol title.

Celine Dion’s twins get baptised

Singer Celine Dion celebrated a milestone on Saturday when her 4-month-old twins were baptised in Las Vegas. Eddy and Nelson were baptised in front of 200 friends and family members in a Melkite Greek Catholic ceremony, which honoured her husband Rene Angelil’s heritage. A representative for Celine told People.com: “It was a beautiful, traditional family ceremony.” The twins’ big brother Rene-Charles, ten, and the doctor who helped Dion conceive her boys through fertility treatments were amongst those in attendance at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The babies went to bed afterwards while their mum hosted a reception at Caesars Palace.

Celine Dion Hospitalized

Celine Dion was admitted to the hospital this past Sunday to prevent the early delivery of her twins. According to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach “Ms. Celine Dion has been admitted to St. Mary’ s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida for observation at the recommendation of her doctors. She has been admitted to prevent the early delivery of her babies which is a fairly common clinical practice for mothers of twins. This is done to ensure the patient can be in close contact with their doctors and clinical resources, leading up to their birth… Although the family did not ask us to do so, the hospital has chosen to enhance our security efforts during this time for the convenience and safety of all our patients and their families within this same area of our facility. We look forward to the day of Ms. Dion’ s delivery of her twins. During this time, we ask the public and the media respect the privacy of all of our patients and their families at our hospital.” I hope that the Canadian pop singer is ok and the babies are doing well.

Celine Dion’s pregnancy hardship

The singer recently spoke about her recent success with in-vitro fertilization and admitted that it was quite the exhausting challenge. This is what Celine Dion said on the matter: “I feel like I’ve been pregnant more than a year. I never gave up. But I can tell you that it was physically and mentally exhausting.” Considering how many tries she’s had, there’s no surprise, but hey… the fun part is just beginning. Celine Dion is probably really looking forward to the morning sickness and all the other joyous effects of being pregnant. The anticipation must be building inside of her pretty quick.

Celine Dion Returns to Vegas

Just because Barbra Streisand turned down a $100 million offer doesn’t mean that Celine Dion would do the same. The French-Canadian singer will be returning to her showroom at Caesars Palace in 2011 for a three year residency in Las Vegas. The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was originally constructed for the music icon’s highly successful ‘A New Day’ stage show, running from 2003 to 2007. However, when Bette Midler took over in 2007, the theatre’s luck seemed out. Celine’s husband and manager Rene Angelil said “We’re very happy to return to the Las Vegas stage. The schedule will be human for Celine, to avoid tiring her out. This second show in Las Vegas will be as amazing as the first adventure, with ‘A New Day’.”

Celine Dion Still Wants to Get Pregnant

After a recent in vitro fertilization process did not work out as planned, Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil are not giving up hope for a second child. The Canadian singer said “Actually, we are all set. We are going back to the same people, the same doctor in New York and it’s a big process. I’m sure people that go through in-vitro (fertilization) know how much it takes and it demands, but I’m good. I feel strong and honestly, we’re very blessed. We have a wonderful child, we’re extremely happy. It’s not like, ‘Oh my god, she’s not pregnant and she’s depressed.’ You know how it works. We are great. We hope for the best, we hope to get pregnant. If it happens, it happens.”

Celine Dion has a Stalker

Last Friday, a 41-year old man was arrested outside of Celine Dion’s Canadian home for allegedly stalking the singer. The man apparently buzzed the intercom and demanded to see the French Canadian diva or her husband, Rene Angelil. When the man refused to leave, security called the police. The crazy fan was sent to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation and was scheduled to face the court this past Monday to answer to the stalking allegations. I wonder what his intentions were. Most stalkers just call on their supposed victims. I wonder why he was demanding for Celine’s husband too. Celebrities go through the craziest things.

Celine Dion to busy to find time to write songs

Singer Celine Dion is so busy currently that is cannot find to time to hold a pen and write songs. Singer of the song “My Heart Will Go On” is right now embarking on a year long world tour that will only come to a close in February 2009.

She says, “I wish I could write songs. I have a lot of ideas. A tune will come into my head and sometimes a lyric, but I never really sit down and try to make something from it. It’s just for me. And I think I’m too busy anyway.”

Does this mean no more crappy Celine Dion CDs ever?!?! OOhh Happy Day! Come man don’t give me this that she would write each of her songs herself. By the time you are such big selling artist you probably have a dozen song writers doing that job for you. Inspiration then starts coming from being too busy keeping up her awesome beauty in check.

Celine Dion Gets Award

Celine Dion received an award from Quebec City Mayor, Regis Labeaume, during a ceremony in Quebec City last week. The 40-year old singer was born in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada and thoroughly enjoyed her trip back home. The singer also performed a free show last week in the city as part of a year-long celebration to mark the 400th anniversary of the provincial capital. Over 200,000 showed up to the Plains of Abraham to catch her. I wonder why she was given an award. Was it for model citizen or was it just because she was born there? I wonder if other famous Quebecers will be awarded.

Celine Dion Gets Diva on House

Celine Dion is getting on her architect for not knowing much about geometry. The singer hired Florida architect Randall Stofft in 2005 to build her a $3 million Jupiter Island home complete with an octagonal living room. Stofft saw it differently and Celine said he refused to build the house she wanted. According to the Palm Beach Post, the house is still unfinished up to now which is why Celine has filed suit asking for a quarter million in damages. It’s one of those cases where the customer is always right. Heck, he’s going to be paid regardless if Celine’s vision was a mess. It was her idea that she’s paying for anyway. He should have just followed orders if you ask me.

Celine Dion performed on stage at the Acer Arena this past Saturday in Sydney, Australia. The Canadian Grammy Award-winning singer opened up the show by singing ‘I Drove All Night’ and followed it up with her classic ‘The Power of Love’. I’ll give you three guesses as to what her final song was and the last two guesses don’t count. Is anyone even going to wonder why she would sing the ‘Titanic’ anthem ‘My Heart Will Go On’? No one can deny that the piece is classic and timeless – even if it can get a bit sickening if played over and over.

Britney Spearsâ€™ record label backed out of a diva battle on the charts by actually releasing her album early. But neither Celine Dion nor Alicia Keys are scared to get a little competition in.Both divas released new albums this week, and while there was no Kanye West and 50 Cent hype that went on around them, both are projected to sell very well. However, only one singer can take the top spot and it seems to be Alicia.

The R&B singerâ€™s latest album is expected to move 550,000 copies while Celineâ€™s â€˜Taking Chancesâ€™, the Canadiansâ€™ first English-language album in 4 years, is expected to sell around 250,000. Congratulations to both for their respective success.

For the 19th time, the world’s bestselling recording artists were honored at the World Music Awards. The festivities took place in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Music fans in the US will have the opportunity to view the awards ceremony on MyNetworkTV November 22, 2007.

Mika was the big winner of the night taking home a total of 4 awards. He was cited as Best Selling British Artist, Best Selling New Artist, Best Selling Male Entertainer, and World’s Best Selling Pop Rock Male Artist. Akon took home 3 awards and Avril Lavigne received 2. Perhaps the single biggest award of the night was the announcement of Celine Dion as recipient of the Legend Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

Celine Dion has released a new video. Itâ€™s for the first single off of her new album called â€˜Taking Chancesâ€™. Incidentally enough, the single and the album have the same name.

The video features the French Canadian singer with a spy helmet. The video is definitely on the hi-tech side. Celineâ€™s new album is scheduled for release on November 13.

Celine is still not done with her entertainment extravaganza of four years at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas but her last show has already been scheduled for December 15. I wonder if sheâ€™s going to tour in support of her new album or would just integrate some new songs in her Las Vegas show.
