As he sang “Indian Outlaw”, a bit of chaos broke out near the front. Apparently Tim saw an aggressive male fan hit a female fan, and Tim didn’t take took kindly to that. He yelled, “Get rid of this guy! Security!”

But security didn’t move fast enough for Tim, so he grabbed the guy, pulled him on stage, and held him until they could get him. Needless to say, he was escorted from the concert.

Jessica Simpson wants to sing country music for ‘the rest’ of her life. The 27-year-old singer – whose career rocketed after she appeared on MTV reality show ‘Newlyweds’ with now ex-husband Nick Lachey – loved making her debut country record so much she never intends to return to pop music.

She said: “I’m planning on making country music for the rest of my life, and I don’t want to go back to that other world.”

Jessica also revealed she has heard mixed reviews for the first single ‘Come On Over’, from the as-yet-untitled LP, but is determined not to give up.

She added: “A lot of people have listened to ‘Come On Over’ and told me, ‘I really wanted to hate it, but I like it. It’s a backhanded compliment, but I’m glad it’s that way and not the other way around! I take a lot of pride in my talent and in the record I was able to put together. I’m not giving up.”

Shania Twain needs time to mend her “broken heart” following her marriage breakdown.

The ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ singer has thanked her fans for their support since she split from Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange after 14 years of marriage, and is hoping to express her emotions through her music.

An ex-maintenance man for Latin music star Alejandro Sanz has come forward and admitted that he tried to blackmail the singer into paying him $500,000 and just took a plea deal to avoid having to go to trial. Carlos Gonzalez and his wife Sylvia Alzate admitted to making extortion threats of releasing unspecified info to the Spanish language media about Alejandro unless he pays the half million. Shortly after the threat, the singer admitted to having a 3-year old son from a previous relationship. The couple agreed to two years’ probation just before jury selection was to begin in their Florida trial. They were facing up to 50 years in prison if they got convicted.

American Idol champ Carrie Underwood joined Brad Paisley in a live special tribute to country music legend Eddy Arnold during the 43rd Annual Academy of County Music Awards which was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday. The event was hosted by Reba McEntire for the tenth time and was attended by country music’s best. Carrie being chosen to be part of the tribute shows just how much she has grown as an artist since her American Idol days. The show works – for some people that is. And Carrie’s a big sweetheart anyway. Everyone absolutely loves her.

Famed country songwriter Richard Fagan was popped by Nashville cops for murdering his roommate and friend, producer Gaetano Thomas Oteri who was the father of ‘SNL’ star Cheri Oteri. According to the police, Fagan got into a scrape on Saturday night with Oteri and admitted to cutting him with a pocket knife. Oteri was picked up later that night for DUI. The two had collaborated on several of Fagan’s songs. Oteri is even credited with helping Fagan through tough times on Fagan’s website. Fagan has been officially charged with criminal homicide and is being held without bond.

Taylor Swift attended the 2008 CMT Music Awards which was held at the Curb Events Center at Belmont University on Monday in Nashville Tennessee. The young singer also performed on the show and even picked up the award for Best Female Video for her hit single ‘Our Song’. The 18-year old singer could barely believe she won, saying “Are you serious? I can’t even believe this.” And who would when the rest of the nominees included Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert? Congrats Taylor! You may have been in the company of stiff competition but you definitely deserved it!

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley were on hand to announce the nominations for the Academy of Country Music Awards on Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee. The country superstars announce the nominees at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Kenny Chesney led the pack with a whopping 11 nods which include entertainer of the year and top male vocalist. Rodney Atkins followed with 6 nods while Brad Paisley, Big & Rich and Sugarland got 4 nods each. The CMAs will be held in Las Vegas on May 18 and will air live on CBS. Carrie, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler are all scheduled to perform on the big night.

Country crooner Toby Keith’s father H.K. Covel was driving on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma back in 2001 when his truck was bumped by another vehicle which caused it to cross the center median, where it was hit by a charter bus carrying 21 passengers. Covel died that night.

According to evidence presented at trial, the bus that hit Covel’s truck was ‘in urgent need’ of brake repairs. Thus, the jury ruled unanimously against the owners of the bus, Rodriguez Transporters and the Republic Western Insurance Co. of Arizona. The jury awarded Toby and his family $2.8 million in damages in the death of his father.

The party was attended by other celebs such as Kellie Pickler and John Rich from Big and Rich. John led the crown in singing “Happy Birthday” to Taylor.

It’s a grand gesture to make a dog commercial supporting a law anti dog fighting but unfortunately I can’t help wondering if the real reason Nelson agreed to appear in television isn’t the sad reality that country music died and this was the only way for him to show the world he didn’t die along with it.
The bill he is supporting is meant to stop Georgia’s dog fight organizers form organizing such events and also selling and breeding dogs with this sole purpose. Nelson just smiles sadly at the camera, while the background sound plays one of his hits. Why didn’t they write something for him to say to people I can’t understand, it would have made the commercial more interesting…

Kelly Clarkson is about to work her not-so-impressive songs much more as she and country legend Reba McEntire are reportedly going on tour together. The joint tour will kick off on January 17th in Dayton, Ohio and ends by February 16th in Kansas City, Missouri.

That’s 1 night, 1 band, 2 singers. Too bad everyone will have to sit through all the crappy songs from Kelly’s new album with a few sprinkles of her past hits but we’ve all got Reba to look out for.

Kelly has been a lifelong fan of Reba and even hired Reba’s husband as her new manager this year.

Country singer Trisha Yearwood has hit out at ticket scalpers who are charging hugely inflated prices to her husband Garth Brooks’ sold-out run of comeback concerts. That is crazy I totally respect what Trisha and Garth had to say because it’s not like we are all rich or anything and there’s no way I could ever afford to pay 975 for a ticket and so please shut them down. I could afford 31.00 though.. From what I know about Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood is that they seem like, just good old regular folks and I am sure that they would be greatly upset that for the most part their fans are hard working where every cent is accounted for kinda people cannot afford to pay almost $1000 to see Garth so scalpers have a freaking heart! A $1000 and just $31 is a hell lot of difference, it is like you are almost saving on a $1000 and that’s good enough money for household expenses for many people in this country.

Carrie Underwood has put rumours her ex is now dating Britney Spears behind her by claiming the top spot on the new albums chart. It’s a great week for country music on the Billboard 200 - the top three albums are all debuts from country acts. I personally think that she and Kelly Clarkson are the two best things to have come out of America Idol reality show. The others are good too and I am not going to name the others who are bad and who are good because you never know the ones we often are most critical they are the ones who most of then not come out trumps and we have to eat our words. Carrie is the one for the future and despite everyone thinking that she is not made for the toughness of the music industry and that she should be sitting at home chewing on her nails she has been successful and will continue to be much to the despair of her rivals.

After the highly publicized beat down that happened between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards this past September and then hearing about Kid’s scuffle at a Waffle House, I’m quite surprised that he has avoided being charged in his fight with Tommy.

The Clark County DA is reported to not wanting to “pursue a battery charge” as said by EXTRA. It seems that it was Tommy that has requested that there be no prosecution regarding the incident since no injuries were sustained. Kid however, still faces that misdemeanor battery charge from that Waffle House fight.

Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, and now Carrie Underwood are all from Oklahoma and are very successful - if anyone says their “stupid” - then they need to look in the mirror! They are not stupid! Don’t worry Carrie! You’re not! What is it about calling singers stupid, well they can sing and she is a winner at the American Idol contest so she has to have some really good singing skills and a whole lot of talent to win a big contest like that – so does that make her stupid, I think not at all. If you have a record deal or millions in your bank account that doesn’t mean you are stupid. People need to understand that just because someone is repetitive and yet successful it does not mean she/he is stupid, it means that we are putting up with their shit and there are happy to oblige. We are the ones who are stupid buying the same kind of music with new beats, they are just doing the marketing right to fool us all.

We need to tell the stars that if they continue with their wayward ways and do not clean up their acts then they could be facing losing interest from fans. Another marriage has officially come to an end over the weekend when country singer and former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant Sara Evans had her divorce granted in Nashville.

If you can recall, Sara had accused her now ex-husband Craig Schelske of cheating on her, verbal and emotional abuse and often watched porn in their home. Craig denied all her claims and even added that Sara filed for divorce the same day that he found out that she had plans of leaving him.

In the settlement of the divorce, the exes will get joint custody of their three kids and Sara would pay Schelske a total of at least $500,000 over 10 years in alimony.

The Academy of Country Music’s Top New Female of 2003, Kellie Coffey, is back with a new independent album entitled Walk On. The follow-up release to her debut album, When You Lie Next to Me, was produced by Wayne Kirkpatrick (Little Big Town) and features 12 tracks, 11 co-written by Coffey. The video for the first single, “I Would Die For That,” is exploding on YouTube with over 70,000 hits in only four weeks. This is what inspires me you know, to see an un-contracted artist who has no backing of the huge funds that are made available by record companies to their artist and yet she has the confidence and the exuberance to cut yet another independent album and the same has been very well received by the audience. Walk On, is the kind of deep introspective album that most artists aspire to make. “We wrote songs about our life experience and what moved us,” Coffey said of her co-writers. I wish her success and may it go on to become one of the year’s biggest selling independent albums, go baby go, chalk your own path free of those head banging record companies.

Billboard magazine has picked for its first “Woman of the Year” award. The magazine says the award coincides with its second annual Women in Music issue, which will be published in early October.

Billboard Group editorial director Tamara Conniff says the country star was chosen for the honor because of her wide success in music, television, movies and publishing.

“Reba is an inspiration to women everywhere and we are delighted to be presenting her with this award,” Conniff said.

McEntire, 53, has a new album of duets coming out next week that pairs her with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Don Henley, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Chesney, Carole King and Faith Hill.

“I am thrilled to be selected as Woman of the Year by Billboard,” McEntire said in a statement. “Although my career has taken me to TV, film and Broadway, music is and always will be my first love. I am touched to be embraced in such a warm way.”

McEntire grew up on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma, where her father, Clark McEntire, was a champion calf roper.

After being discovered by cowboy singer Red Steagall in 1974, she struggled through the late ’70s to build a singing career in Nashville. She scored her first major hit in 1980 with “(You Lift Me Up) to Heaven.” Her other No. 1 hits include “Little Rock” and “What Am I Gonna Do About You.”

American country singer Carrie Underwood has played down reports of a romance with Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo, insisting the pair are just “really good friends”. This is too disappointing, If Carrie went out to get a cup of coffee with Patriot’s QB Tom Brady they would end up more than good friends. This is an absolute press made up story because they feel that if she isn’t dating a man and the next man she is seen in company with would automatically qualify as her boyfriend, haha. These guys in the press know about relationship way too much better than the person in the relation themselves. It’s a shame that you can’t go out anywhere without people speculating that your boyfriend/girlfriend, but it does go along with the business. Like it or leave it. “I understand because we went to the (Academy of Country Music Awards) together and I go watch him play football that people might get the wrong impression, but hardly any people ever ask me.” she says.

Carrie’s first single off of her new album is looking to be a big hit. The gorgeous and radio-friendly power ballad ‘So Small’ has been out less than a handful of days and it’s already at #3 on the iTunes singles charts. In addition to that, the song is also tracking very well at radio.

Brooks announced Saturday that a greatest hits package called ”The Ultimate Hits,” with four new songs and a DVD full of videos, will be released on Nov. 6 Garth is coming out with a greatest hits CD with 4 new songs on it is cooler than an Ice box filled with ice cubes colder than Antarctica. It’s the way retired and fallen from peak stardom singer can do at best, release your hottest selling numbers add a couple of new songs, then shake it up not stirred up put a nice cool cover on the CD and load it up fully – you could be in for a highest selling album from your stable. The recipe for a successful album is often a mixture of 5-6 good songs and a few really ordinary ones repackaged to induce the fans to picking it of the shelf of the music stores. Let’s see what the out come of this – Greatest Hits Album is.

One of the undisputed legends of Country Music, Reba McEntire has sold more than 60 million records in a career that spans three decades, 29 albums, 33 No. 1 singles, 15 American Music Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, 7 Country Music Association Awards, 2 Grammy’s and the CMT Johnny Cash Visionary Award. Reba, the Queen of Country Music? I don’t think so. That title belongs to Kitty Wells. Everyone is in the rat race to become a self proclaimed Queen of pop, of Country Music, of R&B but none are actually anywhere near to accomplish meager success like Elvis Presley or some other great artist of the past century had achieved and yet the title seems to be crowned even if a album is successful in selling a million copies worldwide. Shania Twain has tasted much success too but I won’t rate her as the queen of country music either. Yet is she can continue her road to grand success may be one day she could be a self proclaimed Queen but not a title that could be won by her.

Country singer Mindy McCready was taken into custody Wednesday at Nashville International Airport, accused of violating her probation after a scuffle with her mother and authorities in Florida, officials said.

McCready, 31, was arrested last week in Fort Myers, Fla., her hometown, on misdemeanor charges that she scratched her mother on the face and then resisted sheriff’s deputies.

She was on probation for obtaining the painkiller OxyContin fraudulently at a pharmacy in 2004. Still pending was another probation violation charge resulting from a drunken driving arrest in May 2005.
