The Disney Channel’s new Jonas Brothers movie ‘Camp Rock’ debuted to a huge audience on Friday night. The made for TV movie averaged a total of 8.9 million viewers at 8-10 PM which made it the cable network’s second most watched original movie ever. ‘Camp Rock’ came behind ‘High School Musical 2’ with 17.2 million. However, the Jonas’ movie did trump the original ‘High School Musical’ which only debuted to 7.7 million viewers back in January 2006. ‘Camp Rock’ may be getting slammed by reviewers but they didn’t do a shabby job at attracting an audience. I’m pretty sure this will lead to a ‘Camp Rock 2’. Darned capitalists!

A 6-year old girl won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert in New York with an essay that claimed her “daddy died this year in Iraqâ€. It’s a heartbreaking story, if only it were true.
Priscilla Ceballos, the mother of the young girl, told the company sponsoring the contest that the girl’s father died April 17 in Iraq. When asked if the story was true, the mother said no. Ceballos told FOX 4 in Dallas “We never said this was a true story. We do essays all the time. My daughter does essays at school all the time. It never did say it had to be true, but [the contest organizer] said, ‘That’s what we expected.’†Well duh! There’s still no decision as to whether the girl can keep the tickets.

When you’ve found a way to make some money, you’re going to stick to it and milk it for what it’s worth for as long as you can. Disney is doing just that when it comes to a big capitalist ploy that they’d like to call Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana.
Billy Ray Cyrus’ spawn is extending her ‘Best of Both Worlds’ tour which happens to be one of the hottest tickets of the year. Fourteen more performances have been added in January. Tickets go on sale this Saturday and just like the previous dates, they’re likely to be sold out in mere seconds and end up on eBay for ridiculous amounts of money.
