Miley Cyrus’ mom likes her boyfriend

And it looks like it’s not just approval-like that’s the issue here… Miley Cyrus’ mother actually like-likes her daughter’s new boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. Apparently Miley Cyrus was afraid this might happen ever since she first considered a relationship with Liam Hemsworth. This is what she related on the matter: “I don’t know who had a bigger crush on him at the beginning, my mom or me. I was like, ‘No, maybe he’s just too pretty. I don’t want to be with someone who’s better looking than me. That’s like awkward.’” If Miley Cyrus thinks it’s awkward, imagine how Liam Hemsworth must feel every time he goes over to her parents’ place for dinner. Maybe a long vacation away from home will cure all of this.

Singer D’Angelo busted for soliciting undercover cop

Grammy award-winning singer D’Angelo has been arrested in New York for allegedly trying to solicit an undercover policewoman, according to reports.

The R&B star, real name Michael Archer, 36, reportedly offered the officer $40 for oral sex, for which he was subsequently arrested and charged with solicitation.

Police found $12,000 in cash inside his top-of-the range luxury Range Rover, when they searched it after the 2.30am incident in Manhattan last Saturday.

His manager was unavailable for comment.

It is not the first time that the Brown Sugar singer has been in trouble with the law over the years.

In 1995, he was arrested for drink-driving and drug offences and the police mugshot that was released soon after showed a bloated and bleary-eyed D’Angelo sporting a scraggly beard.

He is currently working on a follow-up album to 2000’s Voodoo, but its release has been repeatedly postponed as a result of his legal woes.

Ashley Cole reportedly rowed with wife Cheryl about Black Eyed Peas star Will.I.Am before they split.

The 29-year-old England and Chelsea footballer was recently dumped by his Girls Aloud star wife after reports surfaced that he had cheated on her.

Before their split, Ashley had reportedly said that he was “sick” of the attention she received from the rapper.

Will.I.Am worked with Cole on her album 3 Words and had previously said that he would move to London to work with her.

A source said to UK newspaper The Sun: “Will.I.Am’s comments about his wife are not news or a surprise to Ashley. He and Cheryl rowed about it last year. She’s done absolutely nothing wrong but Ashley’s sick of this man openly making advances toward his missus.”

There is a new conflict looming on the horizon and the prize could be Jessica Simpson’s sympathy. It seems that Billy Corgan was recently provoked into speaking about John Mayer’s shocking interview and the smashing pumpkins singer accepted the challenge and this is what he said on the matter: I think for any person who has celebrity to sort of drop rocks at somebody else’s feet like that, there’s things you should really just keep your mouths shut on. There’s things that should just be left alone.” It seems John Mayer is making enemies on all sides of his borders… this does not bode well. Jessica Simpson however will probably be thrilled to see that Billy Corgan is standing up for her like that… what a real friend!

DMX Goes Wild in Court

DMX appeared in court for the nth time on Tuesday night and went absolutely ballistic after the judge left the court room. The rapper was visibly and audibly pissed off that a photographer was allowed in court as he fidgeted while waiting for his hearing to begin. Once it was all over, DMX went wild! Looking right at the camera, the rapper started on with his rant saying “I’m the only one got arrested today … f**king c**ksuckers do it every time man … I get my rights violated but I gotta be quiet about it … f**king bitch man.” DMX is currently being held on no bond and he’ll be back in court on March 16.

Madonna gets praised by Abbie Cornish

The actress who is currently working with the singer now turned director on the movie “W.E.” is apparently very impressed with how Madonna is handling directing the movie. This is what Abbie Cornish said on the matter: “Madonna is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man to define her – and that’s admirable.” Yep… that’s Madonna, even though she probably still misses her little boy-toy Jesus Luz from time to time. But as the ancient saying goes: the show must go on! So Madonna is doing the decent thing and being professional about the whole thing… for now. Who knows how long Jesus Luz’s first tour will last.

Spanish Coldplay Song

Coldplay has reportedly started working on their new album which is due out around Christmas. The band also recently premiered a new track called ‘Don Quixote’ in Buenos Aires during the Latin leg of their tour. Lead singer Chris Martin says toward the beginning that the song is a tribute to their Spanish-speaking fan base so I’m not sure if the song will make it onto the band’s new album. I like it though. If anything, the song could be a bonus track or part of an international version of their album. It sounds a lot like their ‘Viva La Vida’ material. It’s solid and catchy.

Rihanna Meets the Family

Last weekend, Rihanna allegedly took a pretty big step for her and relationship with LA Dodgers’ Matt Kemp. The Barbadian singer was able to meet the baseball player’s family when she attended the charity fundraiser Ante Up for Autism which was hosted by Matt and his family. Not only did Rihanna attend the event but she actually flew back to the US from Berlin just to make it in time. A source at the event said that Matt looked happy that she came and showed support for him and that she looked comfortable mingling with his close friends and family. I’m glad it worked out for her.

Here’s one of the American Idol contestants who apparently managed to get just one judge on his back. For last night, Aaron Kelly chose to cover Lonestar’s “I’m already there” and he apparently did a pretty good job… with a few minor setbacks. Three of the four judges seemed to agree, except for Kara DioGuardi who said: “Honey, it’s not relevant to your life.” Simon Cowell of course jumped at her throat and said her remark was total rubbish and that Aaron Kelly’s song was a good choice… albeit a bit difficult. Is Kara DioGuardi going for insults now? Either way, it does seem that Aaron Kelly has a bit of a setback for him, but maybe he’ll be around next week too to make up for it.

Shamed Chris Brown pleads with fans to help his music stay

Shamed R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded with fans to help his music stay “relevant” after being ignored by many US radio stations.

The disgraced star, who was convicted of attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna last year, grovelled in a recorded audio message issued through website Say Now.com.

In the rambling message, the 20-year-old Kiss Kiss singer begs supporters to help “bring me back”.

He said: “A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to.

“But it’s on the fans, and everything you guys do is in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need you guys, and nothing else would do that except for the fans.

“But it’s on y’all because my thing is my music, it’s all great and I do it for y’all and I do it for the love and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it won’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have any support.”

After Sunday night’s Oscar program, Barbara Walters has become rather reflective of her career. The TV personality was recently asked if there was anything she regretted over her career in broadcasting and she admitted that her interview with Ricky Martin back in 200 was a huge regret for her. Barbara explained “In 2000, I pushed Ricky Martin very hard to admit if he was gay or not, and the way he refused to do it made everyone decide that he was. A lot of people say that destroyed his career, and when I think back on it now I feel it was an inappropriate question.”

Crystal Bowersox is still in the lead

The girls of American Idol had another run for their money last night and, surprise surprise, Crystal Bowersox is still in the lead with her performance of Tracy Chapman’s “Give me one reason”. Ellen DeGeneres was apparently so moved she could utter nothing more than “Best performance of the night” to describe Crystal Bowersox. Simon Cowell too is apparently feeling very optimistic about her: “You are the one everybody has to beat, I’m telling you. It’s yours to lose.” Always ever so thoughtful… that’s Simon Cowell for you. However, Crystal Bowersox need not worry as she will stay to sing another day.

Lily Allen’s sensitive nature

It looks like the singer had a bit of a break-down while performing at the O2 Arena in London after witnessing a fight between two men in the crowd. It got to Lily Allen so bad that she actually burst into tears in the middle of her show and had to just leave. This is what Lily Allen said on the matter: “That’s the worst sort of violence. It’s fucking sick and you lot should be ashamed of yourself.” The crowd probably wouldn’t have gotten that passionate a reaction out of her if they had skewered her boyfriend right there in front of her. Lily Allen really does need to take a break from showbiz… as permanent as possible before things get any worse.
